I don't know what sort boards you've visited in the past, but the sexual suggestiveness of your choosen emoticon is inappropriate for a professional lawyers chat board. Perhaps this explains the reason why your co-workers suggest that you do not raise basic salary issues with your bosses- your co-workers fear you do not know how to communicate in a professional atmosphere. At any rate, I am more thick skinned than some, and I will give you a pass, but you should know that several posters here would have reported your "come-on" try to the admins.
