"Viable?" In this context, that's someone who can get confirmed by Congress. (The Senate? I don't remember the West Wing episode well enough.) If Cheney picked McCain or Giuliani, I suspect they'd get confirmed, but I don't know why he would pick them. You'd think he would want to pick someone like himself, but younger. I don't think he's particularly close to DeLay. Or Jeb Bush, for that matter.

I really don't know who he'd pick. Is he close to anyone in the House or the Senate?
