Because the things they are being asked to do are stupid, arbitrary, and make no difference to our security. And if we happen to be wrong and they do make a difference, no one bothers to say how.
Worse yet, TSA lies about its own rules. Awhile back the WP published an interview with the TSA spokesperson who said, repeatedly, that passengers did not have to take off their shoes in the security line. Of course she didn't say that not doing so would subject you to secondary screening, meaing, yes, you do have to take your shoes off. Instead of fessing up to getting blowjobs from interns, TSA insisted that it had no sexual relations with that woman. This type of cutesy bullshit does nothing but undermine their credibility.
All TSA has to do is adopt rules that they can justify, and then actually tell people what the justifications are, and there would be a lot less bitching about compliance.

Racial and Religious Profiling.
Heaven forbid we do that, however. Might hurt someone's feelings.

I am coming around to being in favor of that in security screenings. Of course, that is easy for me to say as a white agnostic.

that's not ppnyc, Hank emailed me a link to a new Yoda translator. I was trying it out. Good, no?
And indeed, a WA wine tonight. Joke all you want, you know you are eating your heart out.

Maybe, but unlike you and me, and slave, I don't the bitchers and moaners are applying a thoughtful and.or inciteful analysis and rather are reacting to the viscerally perceived inconvenience.

I mean the Turks and the Saudis and the Jordanians and the Iranians and, more generally, the logistical problems. But it maybe it does all boil down to fuck the Turks.

Nice try, but your pals on the left fed you that. Why is so difficult to admit your fraud?

Maybe, just maybe, hewhothinksheknowsitallbutreallydoesn't, you and the rest of the travelers are on a need to know basis. Maybe the security agencies don't need to justify every security rule. If you don't like it, find another, more agreeable form of transport. For me, while I agree that more, much more, needs to be done, I am not going to argue on the margins. If there are no carryons, there are no carryons. I'll buy my drink on the plane and do my work on my laptop in places other than the plane.
I'll still think about my work, as follows:
1. Billable matter A one minute out of each six minute interval for the duration of the flight, rounding up, and billing matter A for the whole flight time;
2. Billable matter B, one minute out of each six minute interval for the duraction of the flight, rounding up, and billing matter B for the whole flight time.
3. Deviant sexual acts with Hank's wife, 4 minutes out of each six minute interval for the duration of the flight. Non-billable.
thus, neither my commerce nor my sexual fantasies will be negatively impacted here.
Carry on.

I am not muslim, that I know of, although I no eatta the pig, but when I got my tan on, I am swarthy enough to fit a certain profile and I would have no problem getting pulled each and every time if I thought it was part of policy that was focusing on the profile of terrorists as we know them.
Of course, the time I got pulled wearing my kilt and they asked me to lift it up, the commando thing made for an interesting scenario..........
