There was an article around Christmastime last year on Salon.com by Wil Weaton (known by most for his role in Star Trek: The Next Generation, but he should be known more for his
awesome blog) about having a confrontation with his father about
the Tookie Williams execution last year. The letters to the editor told a lot of stories of other people having to deal with conflicting political views from their parents.
Most interestingly, Wil followed up the article with an
interview with his parents after the article was published on his blog. They were understandably upset at his portrayal of them in his article, and he wanted to give them a chance to tell their side of the story.
