The Wire is an incredible show. As for what it says about race, I think if you were to have followed it from the beginning, you would see that it is one of the most racially balanced shows on tv. There are both Black and White heroes and villains. Rich and poor, etc.

I don't deny that. (Although, I didn't see very many white people at all.) I actually used it to demonstrate its authentic voice and how much work black actors are getting. The first episode of the season was gangster-heavy (and I imagine a show called The Wire would be), but it seems to have a broad scope.
What season is it in anyway? I think I want to buy the other seasons. A friend of mine is supposed to have a recurring role in it this season.
