Lands End are pretty well made.
But I think you should check out CostCo. On a price/value matrix, I think they come out well. They don't have a huge variety of colors and styles, but if you're buying a bunch of sweaters, you may as well get some value ones.

As I suscribe to GQ, Maxim, Men's Journal, Stuff [it was only ten bucks] and Playboy (among numerous other magazines and periodicals to which I suscribe but never seem to read), I think I share your addiction.
