Maybe he went to the Extension School.

And when they signed the e-mail with two women's names, they made sure to point out that they are mother and daughter, lest I think they might be (GASP!) lesbians.

What's up with that? Now I'm just kind of rubbed the wrong way to start my day, and really, I'd rather not be grouchy.

Yes. Your way is the right way. These people are passive-aggressive fools.

At the end of the broadcast, Edwards asked listeners from his studio in Hollywood to donate money for cancer research, as well as to buy a TV for the boy, whom he called "Jimmy" to protect his privacy. "Let's make Jimmy and thousands of other boys and girls happy who are suffering from cancer by aiding the research to help find a cure for cancer in children," Edwards said on the show. By the end of the week, $20,000 in donations were made to "Jimmy" and the fund was born. It was the Braves' favored charity until their move in 1953 to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and since then, the Jimmy Fund has been picked up by the Boston Red Sox.
but how does Terry Duerod fit in?

Wow, he must not have been a local. They all know that Mar. 17th is evacuation day, at least in Suffolk County, allowing everyone to celebrate the withdrawal of British troops from Boston. With several pints of green beer.
I assure you that Officer Brennan, with his thick Southie accent, was local.

Second best holiday in Boston (after Evacuation Day) is Patriot's Day, otherwise known as We're-running-a-marathon-here Day.

Which everyone who is ANYONE would recognize as a non-Harvard response, as the stock "in Boston" answer is the appropriate one. They revoke your diploma for violation of that one, you know.

You skewed the curve. In real life ratings I was a 6.

When a seller asks me for feedback prior to my having received the item, I let him/her (usually a "her") know that my policy is not to post feedback until the seller's part of the bargain is complete (receipt of item) and that I do not leave feedback for sellers who have not posted feedback after receipt of my money.

I've never had a seller not understand my (capital P) Policy. I think it's because I use the word "policy" -- I sound official and important. Which I am. Very.

And I assume you don't actually mean "expenses," but rather mean "fixed and unavoidable household expenses," as opposed to "my pretending I'm in an income tax bracket a couple notches up expenses," but perhaps you do. You might also consider savings.

And not social-climbing? Please. No one drops names like that who isn't trying to prove something.
I think part of the issue/problem here is as follows. You know and I know that people make snap judgements about people based on their appearance and facile, superficial elements. Partners have asked me if I am married to a banker, people have mistaken me for an atty, female partners appeared annoyed I'm in the same double pearls and cashmere and appear indistinguishable to them, clothes are how people draw lines in the sand. if you think outside of the box and are aware of how people judge you that gets outside of their comfort zone because they know how vapid others are especially in NY.

I have been to both. In fact, the Brazenette, at the tender age of 3 and a half has been to both. She hasn't missed a spring training season yet.

Oh PUHLEEZE! Who doesn't talk about labels? On an internet board? On an internet FASHION BOARD FOR LAWYERS?

Because saying "I just went on a shopping spree at Paul Stuart" is less tacky than saying "I made 400k this year"

at my big law, summer softball, a summer associate hit me with that.

Hank: Where you going to school?
Kid: Boston

I kept asking him to be more specific, until finally he hit me with the truth of his law school.

the problem was he owned NO athletic shoes and was playing softball barefoot. this fact lowered the great weight of respect I otherwise would have been forced to afford him, based upon the school.
