With me? that my oldest can sense my "stress" level associated with clothes etc? well. my point is that your kids can probably as well pick up on the resentment as well, even if you're trying to protect them from it. to the best of your abilities.
Well, no shit, sherlock. God, I hate when people quote me and then take credit for the concept. But to be clear: your assessment of all or part of my orientation toward my ex- is incorrect. And to be clearer: my original point to you was a light one with respect to clothes. But somehow I get the sense you're not the picture of serenity IRL, and your reaction to my making the point I did lightly and in reference to shopping tells me you don't think so, either.

The "right for parity"? What the fuck are you talking about? In which amendment to the Constitution does the right to parity in youth sports playing time exist? The coach is volunteering his time and the last thing he needs is a bunch of psychotic parents bitching at him or threatening to sue him because little Joey did not get enough playing time. If there were actual concerns about race being a factor in determining who gets playing time, that is one thing, but that does not seem to be the case here. It seems like your husband was using whatever leverage he could so he could get the ego gratification of having a kid who is a starter.

I object to how my sock is never left with the "latest post" for any length of time. I can't help think the reason Penske is always allowed to have the latest post is because he is Anglo-Saxon and I am swarthy. I hate to play that but it it what it is.

Pssst... ppncy is not a lawyer, so she can't possibly know about Constitution stuff.

A little known double secret codicil to the penumbra?

If the Displaced Dogs weren't already doomed for living in a single-parent household, I'd worry more about their development that stems from picking up my wildly varying moods. Happily, they do not compete in any sort of athletic endeavor, so they're not being unfairly picked on or neglected by a coach. Unhappily, I have to work, so I can't hang out with them all day. Somehow, though, we get by.

But do you call them during the day? According to the elevator here, one out of three dog owners call their pooches during the day or leave messages on the answering machine. I'd like to think you are in the top third of attentive dog "owners".

No! Stop! Please! I can't take it! So judgmental and unfair!

This makes no sense. None at all. Your husband threatened to sue to get him some playing time in a sport that is almost over? And now you're hoping it carries over so that your fat kid gets some time on the court?

There are limited spots on a basketball team. And if he sucks (and let's go ahead and say that he does), everyone on the team will hate him because his daddy fights his battle and he's fucking up the team whenever he's on the floor.

Re: Exercise. Why not just feed him less?*

TM

*No, not Less, although I'm sure he'd think he was a tasty snack.

Are not double secret codicils inherently "little known"? By virtue of the double secrecy?

Think about it . . . . . . . . .

Isn't there an important difference between competitive leagues, like the one that sent Michael Jordan home, and the leagues set up just to get kids exposed to the sport?

They wouldn't hear it even if I did do it. Voice mail doesn't have a message out loud. Sadly, they're completely denied my glorious presence for most of the day. They probably can't even see the photographs that are laying about the house. I'm pretty sure the house smells like me, though, so they've got that.

I am saying that the shopping addiction isn't something that is relevant due to our location....my kids won't turn into status monters since the other kiddies just don't have it...it's a different environ.

and I did piss you off I can sense it in your tone.

I'm just saying. Again. My parents are divorced. They were so caught up in their self absorption they couldn't see me and what my best needs my best interests were....and often, that is how divorced parents exist. In their own misery...and the kids see it. They become parentified children, it's sad.....it hurts them. or they are so intent on hurting one another they lose focus about the kids. it's awful.
Wow. You've got a serious mean streak.

What nono was saying is that your kids can and will pick up on your shopping obsession. Living in the country has nothing to do with it. Unless you are saying that you never wear the clothes at home and never bring the shopping bags in or leave all of your clothes at work. How the other kids are doesn't really matter in that circumstance. Nono was saying your kids could, possibly, pick up on that and then you launched a personal attack about her ex and her kids.
