When you're married to her, don't let her get a camera phone.

I've got a few problems with Slave's country. I'm glad I don't live there.

The PRM seceded? I'd better pack my passport next time I go visit mom.

Actually, I believe it is "FWIW, Texans, as a general rule, love their country." The Country of Texas that is.
To the prior point, on paper I am educated (meaning it looks like it until I open my mouth). I also loved my Country of Texas and love my new Planet of California.
I think Canadians are bad people because they stole the concept of my wonderful Wisconsin accent and have since made a mockery of it.

Of course I was kidding. I was trying to come up with the most egregiously ridiculous use of legal threats I could think of.
Naturally, though, were it football, I would have been completely justified. That shit is SERIOUS.

Important Taxonomy Question

As a general rule Canadians love their country -- especially educated ones. They totally buy into the patriotic crap (even though in many ways, the US is much better in the ways that Canadians think that Canada is better).
Every country has dumb, coarse people. I don't think there are any more of them per capita here than say, Australia, or England, or France or Germany or Switzerland.
|
My views may be poisoned. I live in the asshole of the East Coast.
I get disgusted a lot with the behaviors I read about. I'm as much an Ugly American as a lot of people, in many regards. But I'm not a suit-happy, cry to management type. When something fucks with my life, I find a way to get around it, rather "demand my rights" at the courthouse steps (Even if it takes me a decade to work my way out of the problem/career).
I actually like the country a lot, which is why I'm concerned. When we become a nation of people who think the govt's our Nanny, and every dispute's a chance to hit the lawsuit lottery, we're giving up our individual initiative, and giving ourselves excuses to be stupid.

I can't wait! I'm saving up some good stuff now -- like that one time she asked for a treat after she just had pancakes with syrup for breakfast! What a stupid little bitch! How could she not know that those sweet flapjacks are as good as a treat? Should have kicked her right the fuck out of my house.
