His yo-yo posts were inspired. But maybe you need a MySpace account to get those.

I went through the yellowtail phase a couple years ago. It is good. But I have moved on.

The toro makes them all taste like ass. That is the shit.

Amazingly good stuff. In particular, these -

The style is very adult (for lack of a better word) - herbs and such - not super sweet. It's wonderful.

Razorbladed candy apples and LSD soaked cartoon strips...

Remember those warnings we'd get every year as kids? Was there EVER a case of anyone, anywhere, dosing a little kid with acid? Did anyone ever give out cartoon strips instead of candy? God, things were wierd when people took warnings from the govt seriously.

A spate of forwarded messages circulating just in time for Halloween warns parents to be on the look-out for lollipops laced with dangerous drugs. The bad news: law enforcement documents confirm that the drug-laced suckers are real. The good news: despite persistent urban myths to the contrary, actual instances of adulterated Halloween candy turning up in children's trick-or-treat bags remain quite rare. [DEA photo]

Why was this ever a risk? If you got an apple from some anti-establishment health nut, it went in the closest bushes or was used for target practice. If was a candy apple, same thing--the goo would get all over your sack of treats. And same for raisins--screw that. No reason to waste stomach space on stuff that's good for you.

I took the Brazenette to Costco with me to buy Halloween candy. As a result, we have the mega box of Hershey's products (KitKats, Reeses, Hershey bars with and without almonds) and the M&M pack (3 different varieties). Full-sized.

I normally order sashimi of various kinds, plus something cooked and greasy (tempura, kama, gyoza, etc.) and/or one roll, of which I leave about half the rice uneaten. Sunomono is also an option. Plus, a couple of the things I like only come as nigiri - unagi, hotategai, ikura with quail egg, so I get some rice despite it's empty filler status.

I prefer the "go out to a late dinner" and avoid the kids altogether approach.

I used to get many apples trick-or-treating. My neighborhood growing up was full of granola-types. My parents would carefully confiscate them all and throw them out (actually, they would go on the compost heap). I remember my mother feeling all guilty about it and apologizing. Ha! Take that, apples.

Really? I have never run across someone who did not care for toro.

Good toro is a feast for the taste buds, in my opinion. Bad toro is just a sad state of affairs. But good toro sashimi on its own and sometimes paired with a little uni is very very good.
