They only use feathers from ptarmigans that die of natural causes.

Right. How could it have been harder than the TDF?

Well, I usually bill time when drafting a motion for summary judgment, motion to dismiss or motion for directed verdict.

"changing client name, and opposite party name in form brief captured off of firm's brief database. filing revised brief with court." 4.7 hrs.

You don't need any big words.

Draft motion for summary judgment.
Draft motion to dismiss.
Draft motion for directed verdict.

I still don't see why you need the word for billing. Hell, I bet you could go a whole year without using the word in your actual motions and I bet you wouldn't get fired.

I bet I'm going to get in trouble with ncs because of the whole "words have meanings" thing.

I used it b/c I wasn't entirely sure what I was going to call the motion. I normally bill them as "Draft motion for summary judgment; Draft motion to dismiss; Draft motion for directed verdict." Its name depended on the timing of the motion.

I like Hank's version, though.

Ponder for a few moments what a bleakly boring worklife Coltrane must have, based on your summary of his possible billing entries. Maybe he was trying to spice things up with an unusual word? Some legalese, to impress the client? And then he finds that his billing software was apparently designed by someone who went to an even more pathetic law school than he did. But that person is no doubt making more money.

Plus, words have meanings.

Blue skies and 77 degrees at 9:30. Desktop weather indicates that the high today will be 85.

I bought some black suede boots from Ann Taylor over the weekend on sale. I looove them. I'm breaking them in they are pointy toe and high heeled.

I am afraid to wear them outside....

I also want black leather boots. Any suggestions where? I'm thinking Cole Haan or J Crew. I really don't feel like dropping 400. These were on sale...
