CVT is a type of transmission. It's continuously variable, which means that it has no gears, like a traditional automatic or manual transmission does. In theory, it keeps the engine in its ideal powerband, without the jumps in power that traditional gears force on an engine. CVTs are supposed to offer better fuel economy and performance than an automatic, on par with a manual, sometimes better than a manual. If you want to shift for yourself, as you would with a traditional manual transmission, you won't like the CVT. If you were thinking about getting an automatic, you won't mind the CVT at all.

Or the Acura RSX. If you only need two doors. $21k MSRP with cloth or $22k with leather. Small, nicer than a Civic.
Also, if you're already looking that small, the scion tC is pretty nice for the price ~$17k, although no leather seats. Again, only two doors.
Also, I was recently in a small Saturn with leather seats. Not sure I'm recommending it, just noting it's an available option.
There's also the VW Rabbit and/or Jetta, but I've heard there may be reliability issues.

Alley's Bikini
Thanks for this--yes, she does look thinner than in the picture, but no way 145. I'm also 5'8", and that's about what I looked like at 185 (with probably a little more junk in my trunk). Figure the camera's adding a little, but she's still fudging by 10-20 pounds at least.

Oh no!
I hope ABBA doesn't find out that 1,000 orangutans are feared dead in forest fire. Sigh. I really like orangutans too.

Oh no!
I finally take the time to check out the FB and what do I see: Dead baby Orangutangs. I didn't need to know that. That is so depressing. I don't know why I come here.

as much as South Californians drive, I don't get why you don't want a bigger car. or an American car. 300 C is a great car.

don't you have any sense of the new age? maybe if you had been here the Orangutans would have been protected?
Sometimes I think you underestimate the healing powers of your presence here.

Well, then, nevermind. Although the VWs are available in 4 doors. I won't mention that I parked next to a Mini with leather seats this morning and thought of you.

Good? Morning Frustration
I. Every morning when disembarking my train, there is a woman on the train who has an ugly face. There is no getting around it. She is well dressed, very thin, young, but she is ugly.
So she rides in with her husband and they make a great show of PDA, kissy-face before she breaks away...and then she and I race to the Starbucks. She's always on my heels, breathing down my neck and if I turn around she's always right on top of me, or if I stopped short, she'd slam into me.
It:
a.) freaks me out a bit, and
b.) brings out a competetive streak in me whereas I run up flights of stairs to the finish line, i.e. the Starbucks.
Beyond that, WTF? why is she in my face like that. It is so weird it does really freak me out.
II. I also work with a woman from Jersey who is all Fendi bag, colored hair, nice suits, and big diamonds. it is strangely repellent but a part of me likes it. should I become a tackola person?
III. Lastly, a woman at work rec. flowers, balloons, and something electronic that sings. Is that overboard?

Me too. If she did, her (not quite) DDs would smack her in the face.

If you liked Man Getting Hit by Football . . .
. . . you'll love:
you tube
The best part is the announcers watching the replay for the first time -- you can almost hear them simultaneously reaching to cover their nuts.
