Well, part of his art involves inconveniencing people. But it is no more inconvenient than the choices politicians I didn't vote for make or everyday jackasses make all the time either. Come on. Chickens on a train? So fucking what?

Ha. Welcome to New York. In another two weeks, you'll ignore the PA who is trying desperately to keep you and 800 other pushy New Yorkers from walking right through the scene.

No, I doubt that anyone is emotionally scarred. But it's just rude to do that to people for my daughter's amusement -- people who (I assume) haven't done anything other than be stupid enough to believe the language of the releases.

Don't forget being stupid enough to take his ridiculousness as real.
Sure it's rude. Sure he can't get it done if they were in on the joke. But I think there are many many better things to be upset about (and let's face it, how often do we see you this upset?) than the feelings of a handful of people throwing dinner parties.

I love you, too. And what I said ain't garbage -- this is his schtick, and to say that he provides an important public service by exposing what Middle America thinks about queers, Jews, chicks, and blacks suggests that you're giving him a pass on everything else. And, if you are, so be it.
|
I am giving him a pass on everything else. In fact, even if he only did the other stuff, I'd give him a pass. But only because it really isn't a big deal.

I agree with you, in part, about the stuff you said about exposing the prevelance of racisim, sexism, etc. Should he get a pass for that? I dunno.

Well, think about it some more then and let me know when you do.

And now you're ignoring the anti-semitism stuff and focusing on his rudeness. And yeah, you're an old fuddy-duddy. I know because we're still talking about how offended you are about someone being rude to someone else.

And, really, what aspect of his schtick are they pushing in the ads, by the way? Heck, rumor has it that the "Throw the Jew Down The Well" episode has been deep-sixed by HBO.
|
That's no argument. Most people are stupid. If you have to trick them into seeing how stupid it is to be racist, homophobic and sexist, go ahead and do it.

beyond Borat, in the exposing prejudice stuff, you know when Mikey Moore had his TV show. He did this thing where he would have a black guy a half block up from a white guy, both flagging a cab. then if a cab passed the black guy and stopped for the white guy, they would interview him.
But there were no black cab drivers interviewed. I know there are lots of black cab drivers in the City. I think it would have been interesting to know what they did in that situation. there must be some out takes somewhere. maybe str8 can go to that TV museum.

If they only interviewed people who passed by the black guy, then it might be that there was never a black cab driver to interview. Because black cab drivers stopped for the black passenger.

There was a Law & order episode based on a black man's rage after that happened to him...the cab passed him for a white guy and he killed the guy.

True. Dammit. At this rate, I'll be voting Republican, eating during the early bird special, and wearing sansabelt slacks before Christmas.

So the poop jokes suck them in (heh), and we get them to laugh at their racism and change their ways? Kind of like Avenue Q?

Good bit. The black guy was a famous actor and the white guy was a felon convicted of murder. Good times.

Uh...no there aren't. I can't remember the last time I had a black cabbie. There are a lot of black gypsy cab drivers who work in the Bronx or Brooklyn, because cabbies don't drive there and black people need cabs too.

Have you taken good look at them lately? Not the most attractive of the bunch. Now, wills and trusts attorneys, now there's an attractive group.

I don't understand the purpose of the gold strap that crosses underneath her breasts. It seems to have neither function nor style.
I also think a dress that provided even just a little support would be more flattering to her. But that would leave less to see which I guess would defeat the purpose of that dress.
