I was going to offer to sponsor you as well, but, on reading this, I think I may pm you instead.

Of course there is a bit of the rebellious factor. I'm definitely too old to shave my head again.

Let's start with your plaintiffs. They're upset because they thought their quotes would appear in a legitimate documentary and those quotes ended up getting made fun of instead? Fuck them. I'm sure they would have come off much better if they appeared in an actual documentary about dumbasses..

Secondly, the purpose is comedy. So he called the guy's wife ugly. So what? He's supposed to be a rube and it's clearly a joke. I'm not losing any sleep over their feelings. Nor am I upset about chickens set free in the subway or poop jokes.

I think what makes Borat brilliant is the fact that sometimes he forces people out of their comfort zones and sometimes he expands them. Both approaches are revealing in that they tend to show a person's true nature, whether they are taken aback by his primitive ways or whether they embrace them. Either way, it is an interesting look at people we don't generally get and it's almost always funny.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but based on what I've seen on HBO, your criticism rings hollow to me.

TM
I was looking forward to the movie for the same reason, though one reviewer I read (on slate, I think) said that instead of being brilliant and clever like the HBO stuff, it goes over into more run-of-the-mill slapstick Jackass-style comedy. So I'm less enthused but will probably still see it.

Either way, the legitimazation of massage pisses me off; whoever figured they could get $100 an hour for rubbing chicks, as opposed to dealing with an obnoxious plaintiff pisshead, is my hero.

That said, I admit it that I am an ignoramus about massage and acupuncture and other "altertative medicine."
You are basing your whole knowledge of massage on what you see during your dirty-old-man forays to Burning Man? That's like saying you know something about art because you once read a Spiderman comic book. If you are pissed off about something, at least waste your energy on something with substance.

My firm has quite a few attorneys with visible tattoos (ankles, shoulders (visible when wearing tank tops), arms (mostly men), etc. I don't think it's really much a big deal anymore, but maybe my firm is just more liberal than most. And I don't know any lawyers with facial tats -- that might cross the line.

There is money, money, money in this. This weekend I observed a long-haired hippie type who was originally behind the register in some crystal shop in Sedona hop into his (beautiful) Lotus to head over to the Ravenhead coffee shop. Me, I just settled for getting my energy balanced in a couple vortex spots I climbed to among the Red Rocks, but if I'd had time I'd have gone for a massage by a skilled hippie, too.

just a stylistic note. you don't need to start a reply to a GGG post by expressely stating that his post is stupid. it is assumed.

it is like making a comment on something subjective, say music, with "in my opinion....." We know the statement "the CD blows" is an opinion, and similarly we know the GGG post is stupid.

I actually give a decent massage. I used to play the piano as well.

One of the secretaries at my last firm suffered from migranes so I used to give her a neck shoulder massage and she said it helped her.
