Are you not supposed to do that because everything might blow up? If everything might blow up, I'd rather be far away. The chances I could keep everything from blowing up, once things were headed that direction, are slim.
It might overflow, and just as you return to your car to discover the flood of gasoline on the ground near your car, some dimfuck piece of shit nearby will choose that moment to fling her cigarette butt out the car window, because there's no way she wants to stink up her car.

I think you are supposed to attend b/c of potential automatic shut-off malfunctions, which would cause gas to spill everywhere.

I never go inside a gas station mart if I can help it. I prefer to get out of gas stations as quickly as possible. Speedpass, baby.

One time years ago I did something very stupid. I was pumping gas on a road trip and instead of pulling out the gas nozzle out by the outer plastic coating I pulled it out by the trigger....gas went everrrrywhere it was awful on my clothes spilled on the ground. That is why if you see cat litter on the ground? it is to soak up moron's spills like mine.

I am also a horrible driver with like, zero depth perception so I'm always afraid I'm going to graze my paint job on the concrete island or the metal grey things on the island.

To RT, aren't truck stops in the south bigger like the ones in say Indiana huge with like showers, etc.

The ones in the northeast all suck.

I am wearing a bright color today. Simple sheath dress but super bright. I am the anti me.

Alternatively, you can pay at the pump using these new inventions called debit/credit cards.

I tend to follow that general rule, but I was running late this morning and didn't have time to stop someplace else for diet coke. Usually, the only gas stations I'll enter are truck stops during road trips. I have a fondness for Buckey's, though they're not as prevalent as Love's or Stuckey's.

Speedpass is faster, pussycat.

Plus, I get UPromise points. At about $11 worth of points per year, baby's going to end up with a really sweet Harvard bookbag.

Did anyone win Dancing With The Stars last night or is there another episode? I don't watch the show, but I like to keep up with the reality tv potential trivia question answers (I'm working on a badge in reality tv, you know; just need the appearance on a reality show to finish that one off). If someone won, use spoiler space to protect those who might care. Or just send me a PM with the answer.

But this morning, I had to wait for a pump to free up at the Stop 'n' Go. A lawn service truck and trailer was blocking two pumps on one side. A pick-up truck was filling up at one of the pumps on the other side, and some asshole was just sitting in his minivan at the other pump on that side.

Eventually, the pickup finished filling up and I pulled into his space. The asshole in the minivan got out of his car and went inside.

I set the pump to automatically fill up my car (notice how now that the election is over the gas prices are edging up again? another point for another board... ), and I went inside for diet coke. The first thing I noticed was the smell. The asshole in the minivan was smothered in cologne. I glanced at him standing at the counter and then went in search of diet coke (btw, the polar bears are now on the twelve-packs). I got back to the counter, and cologne asshole is still separating out his lottery tickets. The line is pretty long, and of course there's only one cashier. It takes ten minutes for him to cash in his lottery winnings for more lottery tickets. Everyone else is thoroughly annoyed with him, and there's another line outside waiting for his pump.

Sebby was, it turns out, right.
That's only the half of it... Try standing in line to buy a Diet Coke in the train station, watching the minutes tick off the clock, wondering whether you're going to be able to get the coke and still make your train while some wretched disaster "picks her numbers." I actually feel worst for the cashier. He's a young nice guy who does his best to push this disaters through as quickly as possible, but non matter how hard he works, he gets a faceful of shit from the angry people in line. Why those people choose to scream at the kid, and not the rude scumbag picking her numbers, confuses me.

I watched it for the first time last night. I was really drunk so I don't recall much about it (no, not even whether anyone won....I think maybe America votes or something?) except that I am in LOVE with Mario Lopez. I would love to wreck his home. Oh yeah, baby, A.C. Slater rocks my WORLD.

I believe Mark Leyner has described driving through Iowa thusly:

corn

corn

Stuckey's

I enjoy the colorful and varied beverage selection. If I saved all the money I spend on beverages in bodegas and gas stations, I'd probably have an extra $5k every year. I have a drinking problem, plain and simple.
