It did go into my spambox, not my inbox. So it wasn't really successful. It just seemed pointless because there didn't appear to be a way to buy stuff from them.

Most of them are just checking to see if you have a working e-mail account. If it gets kicked back as an unused or expired account, your name gets taken off the gigantic database. Otherwise, crap'll keep coming.
