Your other "good deeds" are not enough to secure the nomination?

Without that call, running that ball wasn't an option.

Maybe it was a decent call, but since CBS showed it only once and did not dwell on its significance, I don't know.

 | There had been a couple of borderline late hits on that series, including one 2 or 3(?) plays earlier which included a hand and/or forearm to the backside of Manning's helmet. I saw that and commented that the Pats needed to be careful or there would be a flag for roughing later.

Leading with a hand/arm/whatever to a qb's helmet is supposed to be an automatic foul and I suspect that Manning pointed this out to the referee. When it happened again (even tho it was very minor), the flag was thrown. |

 | I think that's one of those automatic calls the refs are saddled with. If you hit the quarterback in the head/face with your arms, it's 15 yards, automatically. I think the refs should be given some discretion on those (including the fucking tuck rule that got those legendary Patriots past the Raiders, I believe for their first championship),* but that's just me.

*Although, I am amazed at some of the calls they make after watching them repeatedly in slow motion. |

 | You don't make that call in that situation. That was just brutal.

Here's another under construction, and the model of what it'll eventually look like.

This is a finished house (complete with blog documenting the construction) using 9 shipping containers.

I think these guys did an awesome job for student housing in Amsterdam.

This one out of Seattle looks pretty cool, I think.

I don't like their site, but these guys do a good job of explaining the versitility of shipping containers.

ETA: and I'm totally and completely in love with this 12 container house in Maine.

 | Of course. It's just like if someone gets fouled in the last few seconds of a playoff basketball game. Refs are supposed to swallow their whistles, right?

Look, I agree. It's football. If the guy isn't trying to knock his head off, who cares? Hold on to the flag. But it's hard to blame the ref for making an automatic call. It's not like the defender didn't know he couldn't hit the quarterback in the face. Shouldn't you be saying?: "You don't hit the quarterback in the face in that situation. That was just stupid."
