End of April is summer in Palm Springs. I think the year we went it was early May and 105 every day. But the main reason we swore off of it was that parking/driving to the venue was fucking insane. We spent 2 hours in the parking lot after the first day trying to get out.

Still though, I really like that lineup. May have to investigate whether they've fixed any of the traffic problems...

It was new. I've never mentioned Jerry the Dentist before.

Six times? Really? At least three of the pitches must have been for the Fugee/TM remake of the Odd Couple, no?

Anyway, I don't want to hide my lantern under a basket.

Summer is when the air conditioning is on.

But my main summer in the desert adventure this year is in Nevada. I'm building an art car with some friends to take to Burning Man.

Huh. The only time I've ever been in the Palm Springs area was right after the LA riots, when my roommates and I decided to get away from the smoky smell in the air.

I just googled and learned that was April 29. And I don't recall it being stupid hot but kind of pleasant. And chilly at night.

Of course, that was 15 years ago, and I was probably drunk the whole weekend.

eta: Probably? Oh, who am I kidding. I was drunk.

Oh. So it's always summer then. Wasn't that a Ray Bradbury story?

The story was the opposite. It makes me cry every.single.time.

A rumor started yesterday that they're going to be at Bonnaroo (along with Bob Dylan and Pearl Jam), but there's no attribution to anything legitimate sounding on that one. The lineup is supposed to be announced January 31.

If there is a reunion, I wouldn't be surprised to see them show up at one of the festivals.
