33 minutes of silence for Jules Dassin

Jules Dassin, the best director whose movies you haven't seen, dead at 96.

Residents of TCOTU should rent "The Naked City" tonight which is essentially a 60-year old episode of Law & Order capped with a fantastically-filmed final scene ending with the line, "There are eight million stories in the Naked City; this has been one of them."

My second hit**: Charlton Heston

Charlton Heston dead at 84

tmdiva and Flinty also had him.

**Not literally. Sven is too busy filming wireless ads and marketing himself as a household helper to be a hitman.

As I recall, we have to wait for him to cool to room temperature.

I thought they kept the morgue drawers pretty cold. Slows the decomp.

Anyway, any prying would be up to the coroner or mortician. Who might be NRA members.

I hope they at least empty the clip. People may put up with iron filings, but I for my part do not want lead in my Soylent Green.

way to go. now, Wednesday, when Wonk reads this, he'll spend a few hours scrolling IMDB trying to think up another CH movie joke. I'm thinking a POTA vehicle, but who the heck can predict the cyclone that is the Wonk in catch up mode.

Unfortunately, I did not see this, so the first time I saw the joke was on The Superficial this morning, and I was so amused that I shared it with the first person I saw . . .

and her dad is (well, was) good friends with Mr. Heston. Oooops. She was pretty much OK with it.

RIP Danny Federici.

This is the first death this year that makes me really sad.

And not just because the concert I have tickets for tonight is now postponed.

Sigh. Have I mentioned how much I hate cancer?

The father of LSD

Albert Hofmann, the father of the mind-altering drug LSD whose medical discovery grew into a notorious "problem child," died Tuesday. He was 102.

Now hearing AC/DC in my head.

My favorite quote, "I produced the substance as a medicine ... It's not my fault if people abused it."

One point for me! I only have 2 points in this pool but I'm kicking ass in my other death pool.

I love AC/DC, but it's not the band you want to hear if you're enjoying the LSD 25.

Do you have any Allman Brothers?
