He was a great political reporter and all, but isn't four days of tributes enough? I don't think the Pope got this much coverage.

Don't you think it's winding up and we're collectively moving on? I read that the wake is tomorrow and the doctors have released the COD so all that's left is the speculation about who will be his MTP successor. As for the heavy amount of attention over the weekend, he made a big deal about dad-lad love and died on Father's Day weekend. He was also clearly beloved by his co-workers and colleagues. Tom Brokaw has seemed very choked up to be eulogizing his younger pal.

And heart attack at 58 is right there in "holy fuck" territory for the people who run news departments.

I've been more in the camp of "when the director/producer/on-air talent all know the deceased personally there's a tendency towards more coverage".

As for heart attack, surely if one looked around the news department at any of the major networks, Russert would have been number 1 on most lists for the guy likely to have heart failure. FWIW, Carville is the guy I'd nominate for an aneurysm. And Larry King is the guy who's among the undead.

She had great legs.

Goddamnit. Motherfucker... This is a fucked way to start the week.

I'd wish him well in the hereafter, but if he's anywhere he's probably pretty pissed about it.

hmm

Had to check my list to make sure that Liz Taylor isn't on it. Saw her on Saturday at the biggest, best gay bar in LA and she's looking pretty healthy for an elderly, wheelchair-bound broad. Apparently she's a bit of a regular there. And her little dog too.

Jesse Helms dead at 86. Burger scores a point. Everyone else wonders why he wasn't considered for their lists.

Indeed--easy money.

And now I wonder why Tony Snow was on tmdiva's list but not mine.
