She had something like 2000 requests the first day. She gets an allocation, but it's not 2000.

Yeah, I was mostly joking. There is no way she will be able to fill all requests.

The thing to do is find a friend in the most republican district possible from as far away from DC as possible, and get that person to get you tickets. It's no surprise Norton is swamped--bus/metro fare is a lot less than plane fare from Houston (or anywhere)

Notwithstanding my Obama vote, if Bush had won a third term I would have been golden on the golden tickets!

Not sure. To me its the DC specific substantive board. Given my long history with DC and its legal and socio-political community I know I am here, but you seem out of place. No offence.

Dear RT,
Thank you for contacting Congressman Culberson with your request for inauguration tickets. I have added your name to our list of constituents.
Congressional offices hand out inauguration tickets on a first-come first-served basis. You will receive an email from me in late-November letting you know if you and your guests will be receiving tickets. Constituents who will be receiving tickets will then be notified by email on January 12th regarding the status of the distribution of tickets. All persons receiving tickets will have to come by Congressman Culberson’s Houston office or Washington, D.C. office by 5:00pm on January 16th to collect them. If the tickets are not picked up by this time, then all tickets will be given to the next group of guests on the list.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions regarding the inauguration.
Best,
Staff Assistant
Congressman John Culberson (TX-07)

Who needs a hotel when bars will be open 24 hours a day?

Happy 75th anniversary of the end of prohibition!
