Yeah, that would be great. Except, he done be a former junkie, jus like the rest of yas.

Or maybe he just said that to fit in with the crowd.

Less-cartoony, sure there are success stories. I'm one of them, at least thats what they tell me when I go home. But, when I see the wasteland that is the democratic strongholds, I have to believe, in sum, that the money tossing hasn't helped nearly as much as accountability would.

Speaking of Ann -- Don't know if anyone else has seen it, but in today's edition of "The Boondocks" comic strip -- following up on the boys' theory that they need to find Condoleeza Rice a man in order to keep her from destroying the world -- As part of their continuing conversation on the topic, Huey notes that Ann Coulter is actually a man -- or at least, that she has a pronounced Adam's Apple. Now, THAT would be priceless.

Isn't she dating Gene Washington, one of the top guys in the NFL front office?

Not to detract from the "Anne Coulter is a man" theory.

The Mantra

Repeat it often enough and loud enough and it will be true.

From the New Yorker:

"The other day at the Pierre Hotel, Mikhail Gorbachev, the man who ended the Cold War (emphasis added), was in an elevator administering an impromptu lesson in how newly cosmopolitan Russia deals with the question."

Of course, this is a tactic that the Bush Administration and their apologists NEVER use. Mm-mm. Never ever.
(Repeat loudly and often).

Cite please? Also, there is a difference between a politician employing this tactic versus the press. The press is allegedly objective.

You MUST be kidding club.

As to the Bush Administration:

(a) "Iraq has WMD and lots of it." (repeat as needed)

(b) "My tax cuts provide most of their benefits to the middle class."

(c) "We aren't in a recession, but if we are its Clinton's fault."

(d) "The Bush tax cuts did not cause or contribute to the deficit -- that's due to the economic downturn and national security."

(e) The "death tax" harms small buinesses and the family farmers -- eliminating it will help them.

(f) outlawing "partial-birth" abortions will save hundreds or thousands of live in this country each year.

the list could go on and on.

What SAM said.

So you're saying it's okay with you if politicians employ this tactic?

I'll reiterate. There is a difference between a politician attempting to garner support for his/its policies and the press, which is supposed to be objective.

(a) I don't recall this quote, but we have found evidence of WMD (though, I admit, not in the quantities that this quote would imply). The jury is still out on the quantities.

(b) Arguably true, depending on the definition of "benefits"

(c) Impirically true. A recession is defined as negative growth. We have not experienced negative growth during the Bush term.

(d) Again. Arguably true. If the economy was high flying enough, even with tax cuts could theoretically we could have run a surplus.

(e) True, depending on the estate value of the small business/family farmers.

(f) No idea on this one, but I'd suspect that at least several 100,000 procedures are performed each year.

Forgive me if I'm skeptical, but do you have a cite from a non-partisan source? Also, that 650 number only applies to that particular type of procedure. I suspect that there are others that would be banned under the new law.

They got their stats from a report done by the CDC and another group I've never heard of. I've google some more, but I think it is well established that it was a rare procedure. Perhaps you would like to enlighten us otherwise? I will not pass judgment on whether banning this procedure saves lives.

By the way, I am not Ty. Or if I am, he's not letting me tell you.
