As someone else said (Coltrane? sorry, I was skimming), the connection can be purely physical or it can be more of a connectedness, sort of a feeling that this person was meant to be in your life. True that the physical thing might lead to a more volatile relationship, but if you have both the physical and the other (spiritual doesn't seem quite right, but similar), then maybe some of that volatility is worth working through.

I feel the electricity with random people, at random times. It is a good feeling, but for me has always been a strictly chemistry thing and not a life long love thing. The chemistry is always there, but the rest of the relationship not so much.
Mr. Kiss is the exception. So far.
