Searching now for a source confirming Barr signed off, I cannot find one.
Re Bannon being a certain kind of rich dude, I initially thought the same thing. There are endless examples of well-heeled people who've gotten in trouble for skimming from foundations. (My state is filled with them.) They seem to share one thing in common: A desire to hang with people with hundreds of millions, or billions preferably, rather than their prole peers with tens of millions, or maybe only a single hundred million.
But Bannon didn't need to fluff his wealth. He could run in certain money circles the way many pundits, politicians, and entertainers do -- because the super-rich need "court entertainers" (my pet theory is the super-rich are often super-dull, but I can only confirm this through a few anecdotes). Peter Thiel is a supposedly insufferable dinner host, but he can command all sorts of famous and important guests because... money. Look at Andrew Ross Sorkin... He's a fixture at the toniest parties in the Hamptons and NY, and all he's had to do for it is act as chief apologist for Wall St. since 2008.
And the cast of Bannon co-conspirators here is truly low-rent: https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/21/polit...hea/index.html If Bannon can hang with Chinese billionaires (he was arrested on one's 150 ft yacht), wtf is he doing with these used car salesmen? Is he that much of a populist that he must steal with the commoners?
It's hard not to laugh at the losers here, however. If you donated to build a private border wall, caveat emptor?

My father, who spoke during the service (which shouldn’t have been inside and I watched on livestream from outside), was right to end on how my uncle cared about others and believed in science. My uncle worked in a window factory for more than 30 years. There’s no excuse for the politics we are seeing.
Almost everything he said was a snarky joke at someone’s expense, but it was never hurtful. He was trying to be funny and in a very midwestern way, avoid expressing real emotion. He wasn’t just disguising a criticism (a thing my father does). He was, in my book, an unequivocally good man (aside from the Packer and Badger thing).
He wasn’t sure he approved of the behavior of certain Packer players, yeah, especially Black ones, but he was fundamentally a good human. He didn’t hate anyone. Even if unfamiliarity left him unsure about some people. He was who we pretend that people who support 45 are, but he would never have. Had it ever come to it, I’d have told him how he was being ignorant but it wouldn’t come to that.
His son spoke at his funeral and called him his “best friend”. His daughter didn’t use those words directly, but was just as close to him. Hard to aspire to more. It’s very sad.

Please accept my sincere condolences.

A or B
There is either:
a. A presentation of Covid with a low grade fever, mild headache, body aches for a few days culminating in gastrointestinal discomfort, 36 hours of fever, chills, and insanely drenching sweats; or,
b. A delightful new flu that has started circulating

I get something like b every 5-6 years. Could be either one. ETA: Might be more like every 10 years or so. In that it's happened a few times in my adult life.

If the smell or taste is affected, it’s definitely a.

Food held no allure thru most of it, but it I still had taste. My sense of smell is lousy anyway. Hard to tell, but I think that held constant.
No sleep for 2 nites. Vivid dreams. Tough sleeping for prior two nites as well, but eventually able to do so.

Don't you favor Frank Pepe over Sally's? Your taste was already affected. NTTAWWT

Hmm, I'd advise to fight through that booze problem.

I'm glad you're feeling better. I had the flu last year, and it really does suck. I was coughing for months afterwards.

Sally's is better, but Frank Pepe's is easier to get (more locations).
