American Splendor

Thanks to whoever recommended American Splendor (months ago?). Saw it tonight, and liked it lots.

Nope, most of us don't get nearly that much ass.

Stereotypes are present for a reason. A reasonably attractive* woman will always have a much easier time picking someone up for random sex than will a reasonably attractive man.

*By reasonably attractive, I mean somebody who is okay looking to pretty good looking (6-8 on a 10 point scale). People who are affirmatively hot looking probably have a different decision calculus** (e.g. hot guys get laid just as much as hot chicks).

** Note that I have to make assumptions about this point because I have no basis of personal experience from which to extrapolate. ***

*** Note that I'm using these *** solely because Paigow dislikes them.

While this is true, it isn't always agood thing. It was great 15-25, but it gets tired after that.

Its not fun feeling like a piece of meat, and knowing some girl is after you just because of the "looks" thing. Worse, is having to perform perfectly everytime; the woman is expecting her best time ever..., always. It was alot of responsibilty. Then, for months after, the phone calls......

thats the main reason I tried to find an anon chat board, so i can work on my conversational skills. I know Thurgreed's right when he says how boring I can be. But I never had to develop any line (I think thats the right word!) IRL. My smile always did the talking.

I hope you'll bear with me as i work through some of these problems.

I agree, and that wasn't my point.

My point was that there are many slave and less' out there so if we wanted a guy to "throw it to us," as long as we aren't extremely unattractive, we can get it thrown to us. So getting steady sex is not why women get and stay married.

No, it makes you either Dennis Miller or Bill Maher, one of whom recently said this very same thing. Stealing other people's inventions?

Is this a sock that is really based on a Jim Lee comic book character? Now THAT is digging deep for the payout.

Grammys

The outfits were mixed here and there, in ones that I liked and others I wouldn't wear (mostly because I'd look like a raging idiot in them), but most of my "huh" moments were about the stars' hairdos.

I thought Xtina had gone back to blonde? Was that a wig she was wearing? I'm all for experimentation with your hairstyles (uh ... not that I've ever really done much myself, though), but when she was shown just in the backlight (or whatever the tech term is), I thought she had a ratty wool cap on, and then in full light, it looked like a wig that was hastily thrown on her head.

And Sarah McLachlan seems to be going for a very dark-Raphaelite look (which is fine ... I think she'd look better going 3 shades lighter, but not like she asked me), but why not dye the eyebrows the same color? I've never dyed my brows, but I thought it wasn't that difficult? Or is this part of the "look" and I just don't get it?

Xtina had the bummer wig goin. My problem with the Grammys is that every time friends are nominated they lose to losers. That is not cool.

You are my hero. Of course you already knew that. Thanks for making my life better by allowing me to look forward to my trip to Coachella for the show! It will be good to use miles rather than accumulate them.

Mr. Man sponsored drinks for all FBers at the festival by the way (only disclaimer is you have to hang for a nominal amount of time). Please note NCS cannot guarantee the Radiohead backstage for anyone other than FBers with male gender names. So sorry.
