Concur.

Apostrophe, asterisk, whatever. You try typing coherently after umpteen hours of discovery review.

I've stopped seeing Bush as stupid, or now I see his stupidity is irrelevant. My problem with him is not that he is stupid. My problem with him is that he is a dick. And fuck Zell Miller, too.
This is paraphrased from Franken's book, right? In the chapter on Barbara and how he gets it from her?

Totally different show than last week. One amazing performance, one sucky one, 3 so-so ones and 3 decent ones.

The last contestant, Latoya, made me wish I had taped the show so I could listen to her again. I'll have to tape tomorrow. She was impressive from the first notes. It is much more difficult to sing softly but with intensity than to sing loudly and she nailed it. I even called in to vote for her. She is my favorite from the first 3 weeks.

The big Hawaiian guy gave the only sucky performance and I thought the judges were kind to him. The other two guys and the North Carolina girl gave so-so performances. They sounded nice but nothing special. My guess is that the second person to advance will be either Amy (pink hair; Simon thought she sounded like a cabaret singer), Elizabeth (the first one; good stage presence) or Leah (the 17 yr old whose parents were Romanian pop stars). Leah had some pitch problems but the judges liked her and Simon said she had potential.

edited to satisfy timmies everywhere.
I am not a grammar expert, but I'm not sure all timmies will be satisfied with your edit. I'm going to step out on a grammar limb and say that it should say "if there was an award". however I think that "if there were awards" would also be correct.

dtb, please correct me if I'm not timmying appropriately. This sort of grammar rule is very hard to google.

[hank, please note all my qualifiers in case I am wrong here.]

Isn't it subjunctive? Like, "If I were you, I would tie with dtb for the Timmy award."

Uh, just to have the requisite qualifiers, I don't know if I'm right or not -- note the question mark and the use of an example (to make it easier to tell me how it's different/why I'm wrong).

Maybe you should have some nice, soothing cheesecake? Or do a few sun salutes or whatever those things are called?

clothes made from duck tape

The people who make duct tape offer a scholarship for people who go to their proms in duct tape.

Some of the resulting outfits are amazing.

Subway Series, baby, whooo-hooooo! Mets will win!

Edited to add that the game will probably not be sold out, so I can get tickets at the box office, but when you're talking the Mets versus the Tigers, well, why pay face value?
For METS tickets, you should buy online -- no outrageous service charges and the team still sells a fair amount of tix.

Good seats aren't that expensive. I think the back rows of the mezzanine are like 12 bucks.

Here's a link, go nuts. If your eyes don't glaze, you might be Atticus.

I'll try and keep future posts in the indicative mood.

If you were nice, you would.

Must Not See Reality TV

Rocky" star Sylvester Stallone said Tuesday he's getting back into boxing - this time finding and grooming young fighters to compete in a reality television show.

It would appear that NBC isn't aware that boxing is the new wrestling and nobody cares, unless it involves Tonya Harding.

When I say NYC, or the city, I mean Manhattan. If I mean Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, or Staten Island, I say Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, or stinkhole.
