No, I'm not. But I did drink Bourbon from the bottle starting at age 16.

(b) Its fun. Lighten up.
I was referring to Sgt. Club as Alex P. Keaton as "seeming right", not to my history as a non-doper.

What's funny to me about this is that the Left is only progressive on issues with respect to which it has a contrary position. I guess the same can be said for the right, though.

I taught that class 9 years ago, so I suppose things have changed.

The other type is, "I don't want evolution or other anti-god stuff taught to my kids"- this type might be more lockstep.
Both types of parents seem scary to me.

But what's a breeder to do when the public schools in their area suck and they cannot afford private school? I guess they have to move or home school.

Could be. Like Sam said, could be geography, too. (MN seems to be different in some ways.)

Yo' club, who we gonna swing our two-vote bloc behind this year?

Why don't they just form a private school then? Is money the issue? I mean, are these poor people we are talking about?

Let's be clear. We do not support prescription drug coverage for seniors.

This isn't the big-c Constitution; it's apparently just an interim document, the constitutional version of getting a learner's permit at 15 1/2 before you get your driver's license at 16. There will be another, bigger tug of war once the elections are held, addressing some of the thornier questions left unanswered in this round. But yeah, it seems to create some questions as to legitimacy, esp with Sistani pointing out that no further law enacted before elections should be valid. That should be a fun argument to have....reminds me of Hello's criticisms awhile back that somehow we always find ourselves on the wrong side of the democracy question when it comes to this guy.

btw, following up on my rants of last week, it cracked me up that Chalabi was one of the Shiites who threw a wrench in the works at the last minute per Sistani's orders. This guy keeps spitting in our face to gain some smattering of credibility with Abu Q. Public over there and we just have to take it.

And polygamy.

If you were truly a Libertarian, you would advocate that the government get out of the marriage business.

This movement is gathering steam already.

I continue to believe that the only way we could get a third party that represents "us" is if the GOP melts down and libertarians with name recognition bolt. Once that happens, I believe such a party could grab the large majority of the "middle." Whether that's enough or not to be significant, I don't know, but one can dream.

As to seniors, they should have to buy drugs from shady dealers like the rest of us.

What's funny to me is the lack of significance of coverage this is getting in the press. Clinton got far more significance of coverage for shaking hands with Arafat in the Rose Garden. Maybe that's a good omen.
