Damn. All these rules about what verbs to use while fucking. It's so hard to keep them straight.

And earlier today I complimented the new hairstyle of a waitress at an establishment I regularly frequent for breakfast -- was this unacceptable flirting? (From the perspective of the waitress -- I know how my wife would react. Maybe I should ask if it was unacceptable from the perspective of the reasonable person standard. Yeah.)

As to the waitress, does it help my case that she knows from waiting on me several hundred times that I am a good tipper and a low-maintenance customer who does not usually leer?

TM
Question for dtb, RP, and anyone else who cares:

Doesn't the comma in this sentence change the meaning 180 degrees? With the comma, it's a done deal. Without the comma, it is by no means a done deal. Or is this just my problem?

I clicked on the link so I am fully clear now (and thankful for) what TM was trying to say.

Unless you looking at her tits/ass/legs while complimenting her haircut, why are you worried?

"I told [Henry], 'You want to sign me, get it done. Please force them to get it done. I'm willing to stay here. Negotiate with them. I just don't want to be under Schilling," Martinez said.

He also said he deserved a better deal than Schilling.

"Schilling is 38, I'm only 33," he said. "The fact that I had an off-year doesn't mean that I can be below Schilling. Still, with an off-year, I'm way over Schilling as a pitcher and I've pitched pretty much like Schilling the last few years, if you're going to talk about durability."
More of Pedro's thoughts about Schilling, courtesy of Dan Shaughnessy:
  • A New York reporter, who wanted to know if Pedro would arrive late and leave early the way he did in Boston, cited remarks by Schilling, telling Pedro, "Schilling said this week that you got preferential treatment in Boston."

Pedro snapped back, "Well, first of all, Schilling is not on my program. Schilling doesn't run an hour. Schilling didn't do rehab in 2001 for what I did. I have a very strict way of working. It takes a lot more time than people think. I know why you brought up the question, it's probably because of Game 6 in New York . . . The only reason I stayed in Boston for Game 6 is that Curt Schilling was doubtful for the next game and I had to actually stand up and pitch if Derek Lowe wasn't able to make it . . . Whatever Schilling has to say, he can say it. I don't have anything to say about that. He only knows me for one season. He doesn't know what I'm about and how I work. He doesn't even show up in my work regimen."

There. That should put to rest that unfounded rumor that Pedro was jealous of Schilling.

In reverse order: pitching in Fenway won't help your stats very much (especially if you are a fly-ball pitcher -- outs in most ballparks are doubles to left in Fenway); Kapler is playing in Japan; and it's all about the Benjamins, baby -- they want to cash in while they can. Derek Lowe made himself an extra $10 million by pitching one good game after a shitty season. Strike while the iron is hot.

It was a very large tattoo between his navel and his pelvis in red script, and I'm blanking on what it said. I was too busy concentrating on his beautiful, beautiful torso.

I don't think his boyfriend likes it very much.

Oder?
