Is the Pope supposed to be infallible? I don't think so. And SS, be careful. As we move more towards becoming Islamic, but not yet realizing we are, we will start issuing hit orders on people who mock the Pope.

I think the infallibility of the Pope is one of those central doctrine thingies.

Aren't you gone yet?

Here's the visual reason why your third "proof" is fucking irrelevant in the eyes of half this country.

Now - for the sake of argument, the rest of this post is not personal - it is directed towards the other 3/4 of you.

Half the country doesn't get boggled down is esoteric arguments about "what could" and "what if."

They see terrorists - they see folks defending them - then they think of this. People burning to death jumping out of buildings.

Oddly, most of the folks in my personal circle that want to hide these images and move on from 9/11 are the same folks that loudly demand we hamper the military/CIA from defending this country.

Ignore the argument and turn it into something it isnt. Ty's "innocent prisoner." SAM's "drunken American" on our streets.

I'm fucking sick and tired of this bait and switch. Have a problem with Bush's CIA position, then say why.

eta links to deceased NY 9/11 websites deleted at requests of others
I've said why. Quite frankly, your continual posting of this picture of a body falling from the WTC doesn't really faze me. I've seen the image too many times; it no longer shocks me or horrifies me.

I'm not suggesting we move on from 9/11. I don't want to hide it. I simply disagree with your idea of defending. Quite frankly, thius is exactly the type of argument that convinces me that the worst thing we could do is to allow you and those who think like you win this debate.

You have no sense of honor. You have no sense of what ir right and what is wrong. You care only about retribution and are willing to sacrifice our principles, ideals, and what makes us the greatest country on Earth in the name of expedience.

You say it's okay to torture terrorists because it will save lives. So what. Torturing street dealers to give up the identity and location of the wholesalers will save lives. Torturing Crips to give up other Crips will save lives. If, God Forbid, this country manages to outlaw abortion, torturing nurse and doctors will "save unborn lives."

If you think that is what America stands for, then you're wrong.

One soldier or cop, in one room, with one terrorist, saying "tell me the disarm code for the bomb under the Holland Tunnel or I will cut off your fingers, knuckle by knuckle, is something I would never prosecute.

Agreeing that we, as the defender of the Free World, and the last refuge of the torured and oppressed, can EVER allow torture to become the law of the land? No fucking way.

Hank had part of a valid point. Where he went wrong was suggesting that what is acceptable as an individual act under exigent circumstances is acceptable to this nation as a matter of law.

You have nothing but shock value, and that has lost its effectiveness through yours and Penkse's abuse.

Now, here's the part where I get personal. Fuck you for your stupid picture. Fuck you for your blind, unreasoning hate and bloodlust for revenge. Because that's what it is with you. Not defense. Not safety. Revenge. You hate them and you want them all killed. It comes screaming through in your every post.

I'm sorry for the people you lost. I'm sorry for your sense of violation. I'm sorry for your grief and anger and frustration.

But it's dangerous, it's anti-productive and it's, at its root, anti-American. So find a way to get over it. Before you and your kind get us all killed.

I don't really know what I can say that is more specific than "torture and physical abuse are wrong." You either get it or you don't.

There is a place for covert ops.

I am honored, though puzzled, that it was a post of mine responding to Slave which sparked this reaction.

While I don't pretend to understand Hank's motives, I will speculate that he _might_ be wondering why his posts did not draw this sort of reponse.

To that, I can only say that I am a simple man, without the time or intellect to work to decipher posts to get at the substance.

I will also speculate that I may have just whiffed.

Military coups are a bad thing. The President of Thailand was a corrupt, populist demagogue -- not a great guy.

Depends on the policies the junta enacts.

Only when he speak "ex cathedra" -- fringey -- which happens very rarely. (Though some think JP II abused the privilege.)

I don't recall anyone saying you don't add value. You tend to undermine it by treating everyone else as your intellectual inferior, but that's just the sort of annoying bullshit that makes you so endearing to others.

from our Thai patent associated firm:
  • Dear Clients & Friends,
We are writing to report on the current political situation in Thailand. Today has been declared an official public holiday by the Administrative Reform Council. This newly established Council which is comprised of the Chiefs of the Royal Thai Navy, Army and Air Force and the Chief of National Police Bureau has dissolved Parliament and has assigned the permanent secretary of each government Ministry to act as the head of the ministry under the order of the Administrative Reform Council. Except for the Constitutional Court, all courts under the judiciary system and public administrative and military systems shall continue to maintain their normal function. The Council plans that both public and private sectors should resume normal operations tomorrow.

The head of the Administrative Reform Council, General Sonthi Boonyarataglin announced that Thailand’s democratic system will be re-established as soon as possible and requests the cooperation from the Thai people. Gen Sonthi said the Council has no intention to rule the country. Power will be returned to Thai people as soon as possible. The action taken by the Council was needed to resolve conflicts, and bring back normality, and unity among Thais. The reasons given for the Council taking control was due to the corruption, confrontation, civil disorder and lack of public confidence in the Caretaker government which has caused a decline in the stability and economic growth of the country. Prior to the public announcement, the Council requested an audience with His Majesty the King at midnight September 19, 2006 in order to assure His Royal Highness of their peaceful intentions to restore public confidence and to defuse mass confrontation and business interference within the Kingdom.

In view of the situation we anticipate some delays in doing business but a normal recovery in the last quarter of the year should be in the plans after the formation of the new national government which should take place in approximately two weeks. Once a new Prime Minister and members of the legislation receive His Royal Highness’s royal endorsement, business should resume as normal.

We will update you on the situation as soon as we have further information.

    Dej-Udom & Associates
