In fairness, though, he didn't actually say he was tired of her, but that he was tired of having a fat wife -- presumably meaning that, if she weren't fat, he'd be happy to have her as a wife.
Yes, I'm a lawyer, I parse. Sue me.

Good question. Also, what is a SEAL program? Because I usually think that most organized classes are not good for people trying to lose gads of weight. I mean, they are better than nothing, but to lose weight you need a ton of cardio and probably some weights. Organized classes make it easy for a fattie to slack off. Like PLF. I mean, he goes to his spinning classes but he spends the whole time pretending his shoe is untied and refilling his water bottle. Very little spinning is actually done by him.

Hour long in the morning. 30 minutes of cardio usually running. Rest of the class various tortures involving squats, lunges, push-ups, ab work, pull ups, bear crawls, trudging through sand, indian runs, etc. Sadistic ex-SEAL and/or Marine and/or Army Ranger yelling to make sure you're still going. My first week, I got stuck in the bathtub because I couldn't pull myself out. My first day, I was lucky that I didn't crash my car because it hurt to drive home.

Sounds like a great workout. But I really think that it is for people wanting to get or stay in shape -- not looking to lose weight.

It would be hurtful, yes, but arguably it is hurtful to not care enough about your spouse to remain attractive for them. I'm not saying it is okay that he intentionally phrased his sentiment in a hurtful way. I thought people were saying that he was somehow out of bounds for being tired of having a fat wife. I think that is only natural.
|
My god. if she were hurt, would she mention it to strangers in her class? If she were the sort to say fuck you to the guy, would she have gone to the class.
Keep in mind, the whole world doesn't make every decision perfectly and bravely. Shoot, when some of these people look at themselves in the mirror, they're not model perfect, and some of these people have IQ's below 140.

Diet. It's all about diet first. You don't need cardio to get skinny or stay skinny. Ask any non-American.
An overweight friend gave up Coca-Cola for lent this year. Dropped 10 lbs. No cardio at all.
Of course, cardio will help you lose it quicker and will provide general health benefits, but it's not necessary.
ETA: Shit. Sorry. I didn't mean to start this.

Oh come on -- I doubt anyone gains weight to spite his/her spouse and in order to make him/herself unattractive. If he really did say "I'm tired of having a fat wife" she likely (and not inappropriately) understood him to be saying "I don't want to be married to you if you are fat," which is not only hurtful but shows that he cares more about her looks than he does about her feelings -- which is uncool at best.

I mostly just want to show off my new avatar, but, to all the guys out there, make sure not to get Lane Bryant and Ann Taylor mixed up. Some Ann Taylor-wearing near-fatty will think you're calling her a fatty and slap you something awful!

She would if her motives were what RT was suggesting they were -- [cue devious-laugh track].
Please, please let that be her motive!!

I nipped it in the bud. Closed Pandora's box.
And then fucked her.
But I didn't tell anyone about it.

Therefore, the note was the culmination of a funny joke between the couple.
What happens when Sidd and I agree?
