You can have my maternity clothes. Many of them will help with the frump factor.

I would consider the head on a plate one. It was, surprisingly, from G3. *sniff* [conspicuous absence of normal statement after a "*sniff*" that comes after the mention of the name of a poster not around anymore]

So you're going with Penske's naked suggestion?

I tip somewhere between $4-$15 for a two person meal, depending on a lot of things; the size of the check is one factor, but not the only one.
*I've never had a bad waiter at Arroyo; I was just trying to think of an expensive restaurant.

Remind me if we are ever going to eat out somewhere nice that we go someplace you have not eaten at before. The top end of your tip range barely approaches acceptable for a meal at a moderately high priced restaurant. Hell, I left a $15 tip on a bill just under 60 bucks last night and didn't think it was too much.

The way that weekend is starting to shape up, I might be more lucky if they don't. Duct tape removal is a painful process.

I give everyone 20% b/c it's easy to calculate (move the decimal point to the left and double) and I'm too lazy (and, usually, drunk) for math after a big meal. I'll give more if the service is exceptional.

Alas, they would only be big enough (and possibly not even quite big enough) in the belly area. Or are arms that look like sausages bursting out of the skin non-frumpy?

That's sort of how I do it too. Subtract maybe a dollar or two (depending, obviously, on size of the bill) if service was sub-par (which usually translates into "slow"), add a few bucks if I think the waiter is particularly hot.

2. C'mon. Work with me here, Coltrane. I need something flameworthy.
Actually, this is just an approximation of my pattern. Always at least 20%, more if food was cheap, more if anything was taken off the bill, more if I'm a regular or if I have any interest in being a regular in the future, more if service was outstanding. I might consider going below 20%, but only if it was a I'm Never Coming Back Here sort of experience.
My proudest moment of late* was when my Mom visited and for the meal she payed for, I checked her tip and she left 20%. I trained her on the wait staff thing. <sniff> Gramma is a lost cause, however.
*C'mon with the commentary on how sad my life is that this is actually a proudest moment.
