Right. Either she's a freak, or she's a man who wears tennis skirts.

Mother's Day

Today my older sister calls and lays a huge guilt trip on me for not going to my parents' house yesterday for Mother's Day (and for again not going to church, but that's another story). My mom said on Saturday she didn't want to do anything for Mother's Day itself because we had all been together Saturday.

Am I correct in telling my older sister to go to hell?
I think that older sisters should be told to go to hell far more often than they actually are. So by all means. Tell away. If I give you my older sister's phone number, will you call her and tell her to go to hell too? I'm pretty sure she deserves it. Thanks in advance.

She got really out of shape apparently over the winter, so you might be right. but is it me or is she starting to look like Monica Seles?

Yes. Your sister is a nosy bitch. Plus, either your mom genuinely didn't want you to come over Sunday, in which case it would have been selfish to disregard her wishes, or she was secretly trying to guilt-trip you into coming over anyway through lame protestations, in which case she shouldn't've been rewarded for that kind of petty manipulative crap anyway.

As to church, does she really think GOD won't know you're insincere when you show up there?

I'm going to get rich and famous when I invent a device that let's people tell other people to go to hell over the internet.

That's okay. Brad Pitt says guys might start wearing them anyway after they see the studly miniskirted escapades in "Troy."

ABBA, I know you hate me and don't value my opinion in the slightest, but I think you should tell her to go to hell. You should also inform her that this is the reason why she has kids, so she can tell people what to do who are obligated to listen to her and do what she says. That, or if she gets a job as Miss Manners. Outside of those two exceptions, she has no business either telling people what is the appropriate way to celebrate a holiday or what they should be doing on sundays.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

From what I have been told, MN has lots of tall, blonde hot women of Swedish ancestry. I hear Tiger Woods likes to vacation there.

And I'm going to use it, after pointing out that "let's" means "let us" not "allows."

I would take a different approach. Rather than getting pissed at the sister for meddling, I think the real blame should be put on the mother for putting the sister in the middle of it.

If I were you, ABBA, I would simply tell your sister that it really isn't any of her business and that if your mother has something to say to you, she can pick up the phone and tell you herself rather than using your sister as the go-between. I would further advise your sister that she should refuse to get in the middle of such disputes because there are always two sides to every story.

I would stop short of telling her what your side of the story is, because that is just asking her to give her two cents and the fact is she shouldn't be involved in the dispute on any level.

"Message from eBay Member"

So, I check my email to find the following:

Hi! Sorry to intrude. I don't suppose there's any way in the world I could talk you into selling me the [redacted] lunchbox is there? It's for my little brother who's in the hospital with lukemia. I GREATLY appreciate your consideration in this matter.

Thank you,
txpicker1

So, I of course responded that it was for my boyfriend and I'd have to ask him, but what was he offering to pay for it. I have not yet heard back. I am assuming that his brother is not really sick, based on the fact that he didn't spell leukemia correctly.

Thoughts?
