Assistants' Week

Everyone remembering to do something for the person at work that they least want to piss off this week?

Flowers ordered today for delivery tomorrow. No lunch requirement due to partner's reluctance to sit through lunch with our assistant.

Done and done.

When you post, post something of substance, be it inane or wrong, or whatever, but make it at least mildly amusing or incendiary or at least somewhat thought provoking, even if redundant, as yours truly can be.

DO NOT post "Yeah, this post is so dead on!" This is a particularly annoying post since you've chosen to agree with the Berry sock that the magazine's list is right when it states that Starship's "We Built This City" is the worst song of all time. It's tantamount to saying "Fuck, yes... Hitler's politics were terribly offensive!"

Post an original thought or don't post.

And with that pronouncement, I'm sad to say we're now going to have to close down the FB.

So Sad

I just saw the news blurb on yahoo confirming that Dru Sjodin's body was found, and that it was homicide (duh)...that whole story was so sad....why would that other girl want to pretend she was kidnapped? That's just so morbid and cruel to her family. Did she ever say why she did it?

The solution for the puffy shirt.

So today's blogging by Wonkette inadvertently uncovers some weird fashion trivia:

Quote:
Holes in the ankles of the socks (esp. near the top edge) may be caused by shirt garters, which are popular with men who grew up in the 1940s and 1950s, as well as anyone who has served in the military since then. They keep your shirt tucked in, but pull your socks up, and cause wear and tear on the ankles of your socks as well as your shirt tails. I wear a pair to retain a nice tuck during the muggy D.C. summer, so that when the sport jacket comes off, my shirts still look crisp and well-tucked.
Has anyone even heard of this before? Sure, this might be a solution for Sebby's puffy shirt phobia, but much like a guy wearing women's underwear, it's hard to imagine not feeling silly wearing them even if they're unseen. And let's not even get into the pain of Commando Fridays.

(Uh, so I've heard.)

My bro in law was in the Marines and he had them.

Reinstituting the Draft

Nebraska senator Hagel (R) said US may have to reinstitute the draft. My question to y'all is this....if you are openly gay, can you avoid the draft?

At the moment, yes. But one imagines they would have to reconsider the don't ask don't tell policy if they reinstated the draft. If they didn't a lot of people would suddenly be gay.

I could just imagine the test to prove it. Ok you, kiss that man.

Like Tom Cruise or Kevin Spacey, for example, not that there's anything wrong with that.

Jimi Hendrix wrote a song about that particular test.
