But, that is not why I am writing. I am writing to say that I noticed you are a little peevish today. I understand that you are normally a little edgy. But there seems to be a kind of raw edge to you today. Is everything O.K.?
Peace out.

No, Flower. As I've told you before, the saying has evolved to "Peace the fuck out." Don't make me send you the Travis album as proof.

Do I seem a bit peevish? I'm sorry. I actually feel rather chipper. But then, the first day out of the hospital always seems a bit cloudy. I think it's something they put in the lowfat low sodium mucilage - uh, gravy. Either that or the jello.
Anyway, as I review my posts, I took issue with Sebby on the Mini issue, but I did so in a way that managed to avoid having him thinkof himself as an assclam (at least until you threw a spanner in the works). I expressed surprise, but not disapproval at RT's Sister's sexual candor with her parents. I provided Paigow with some positive feedback for setting her standards where men are concerned at a more realistic level. And I expressed only pity for ltl's feeble use of middle school playground humor as a purported insult.
No. no. I don't really think I've been acting peevish at all today. And I'm hurt that you would suggest I am. In fact, I'm crying as I write this. Posting through the tears.
And now I just don't think I can carry on any further. I'm going to go home, take a xanax and a klonopin, climb under the blankets and sob myself to sleep. Perhaps tomorrow I'll wake feeling stronger and less vulnerable. Perhaps not. But, as Scarlett Johanssen said, tomorrow is another plate of sushi.

Thank you. I deserve neither. Usually by this time I'm thinking about how my race will be different next year. Not this time. Not that race. I'll take a nice cold, flat Chicago course any day...

You need to flesh this part out a little more.

Even us transplants love the Marathon. So many traditions and characters. The Hoyts (father pushes the son in a wheelchair) have run for 23 years, the bandits, runners in costumes. Every year, everyone seems to know at least one person who's running. We all go out to cheer on friends, acquaintances, co-workers and the total strangers who catch our eye. This year I provided a valuable service while chained to my desk, kept getting calls from friends asking me to look up runners and check their splits in the BAA database. The cell phone out in Newton got passed around to total strangers while I dutifully typed in entry numbers.
I went to the NYC marathon once to spectate and was very disappointed. Periodic polite golf claps while everyone discussed where to do brunch.

Thanks! I probably won't run it again. At least I won't go out thinking I'm going to set any personal records. Chicago is too flat to train for Boston. It needs to pony up for a tit job.

I can hardly walk. I probably walk like the porn star right after she was anally DP'd.

Your walking like you got DPed is maybe not as cool as if you had had an IV, but it works for me. I think it might be better than just having thrown up.

Were you able to engage in sexual intercourse afterward?

When? Right after? Not a chance.

I guess I focused too much on your apparent misinterpretation of my post as an insult to you, on what seemed to be an unusually bitter response to ltl (I had temporarily forgotten about the acrimonious history there), and on the less-subtle-than-usual use of sarcasm (e.g., how "embarrassed " you claimed to be in your earlier post; see also "posting through your tears," above). I'll chalk it up to post-hospitalization cloudiness.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent fold-up bicycle for a woman? Doesn't have to be super high tech. But light would be appreciated, I'm sure.
