I just discovered one can ski intermediates out west with a nasty mcl and meniscus tear. No black diamonds again (yet). But all in due time.

I’ve found in some instances just getting back on the horse forces the body to self repair. Brace helps too. Feels like cheating. But then, all short modern skis are kinda cheating.

Oh yeah . . . although at the time it was just called skiing. I didn't ski for a while, during which period the short carvy skis came out, so I never had a timely direct comparison. But I do remember how damn hard it was on anything other than groomers with 200s.

I used to ski 195s. 178s now. It's like the difference between the tennis rackets McEnroe used in the early '80s and the ones I used in the early '90s.

I had a day glo Nevica ski jacket.

The most challenging thing about skiing today is trying to convince your kids not to bomb down the mountain (or hill here in the middle west).

200s were too hard to manage. I got them because I knew someone who won them in a racing competition. Sold them to me for next to nothing. Difference between those and 190s was night and day.

The essential item I never owned was the Vuarnets with the leather sides in white. It was the only accessory for the multicolored Nevica. Completed the Aggressive Pastels Look.
