Good times. I'm trying to remember what wack-a-doo pick the Colts made that set it off (maybe Trev Alberts high in the 1st round?). Here's someone else's recollection:

One of my favorite moments was when the Colts had an early first round pick and went against the grain and picked someone totally out of leftfield (I don’t remember the exact details). Mel Kiper Jr. was baffled by the pick and was saying how they screwed up again. They then went to Jim Irsay Jr. owner of the Colts who said “Who the hell is the guy Mel Kiper Jr. anyway? My neighbor is more qualified to give advice. At least he has season tickets.” When the camera scanned back Mel he was furious. He went on a rant how that’s why the Colts are always drafting early. It was a classic.

Not as good a Jim Mora's commentary on "PLAYOFFS?", but a high moment in Draft/Colts history nonetheless.

Agreed. That was hilarious. Only topped by Iverson and Mora.

Good point.

Not to mention my sexual needs that put Peggy Bundy to shame. Now that's tiring.

This may or may not answer the Q for shiftless, but I'm still left with the question, who is Mel Kiper?

Does anyone watch the draft, beyond maybe the first pick? I know the cliche "like watching paint dry" is overused, but its use to describe the draft is quite accurate. It is simply inexcusable that the first team to pick gets more than 1 minute to make their selection, and the next 5 teams should get no more than 3 minutes each. It is incomprehensible to me how they do not know, for the first few picks, exactly whom they are going to pick, and what the backup plan is.

Worse, how unattractive must your alternative entertainment be to actually go to whereever the NFL studio in new york is to sit and watch and wait and wait and then cheer or boo your team's pick of an interior lineman over a tight end, either of whom may well never play a down in the NFL? The only thing that makes you have less of a life is if you drive to the even in a Miata or Mini.
Yes. I watch the NFL draft. I watch it every year. I also watch the NBA draft.

Yeah, but that's just to laugh at the outrageous suit choices. Nothing is funnier than a 7-foot man wearing a 5-button purple pin-striped suit.

Catching sight once more of your "Extremely Regular" caption, I was unpleasantly reminded of a conversation I had with a colleague the other day.

This older guy (my colleague) walks into my office asking my opinion about some document. As I'm reading it, he tells me that he wanted to read it carefully, so he took it into the bathroom for perusal.

Thanks, guy.

(It was all I could do not to say, "Uh, sir? This has been in the bathroom. I can't look at it.")

how about a four foot tall man wearing a 5-button purple pin-striped suit? that would be pretty funny too. but I would do my best not to laugh in Flower's presence.

The only thing funnier is the old shots of Karl Malone's white pants, white shirt, blue jacket and Sir Charles's maroon suit from the early 80s.

They showed Barkley's suit again last night on TNT. That shit is funny.

Wait, it all makes sense now. Flower=Prince? He is fashionable and from MN. I didn't think he drank mojitos though, as he is a Jehovahs Witness.
