Good idea to hedge your bets until you get a ruling on this one from dtb.

Personally I think the huge mortgage is the one that most people would have avoided. Depending on the age of the wifey.
He may not have had a choice about the in-house thing (or the option of a lucrative big firm job) so it's not nice to bring that up, sweetie.

Redemption for Northern State
You're a recent fan of the Montreal scene. You love Arcade Fire and the Dears. You're waiting for your copy of the Stars' CD to arrive from the Lawtalkers Amazon link. You know that all these bands were influenced by Godspeed You Black Emperor's reign of terror over Montreal in the mid-90s. Hell you even like Broken Social Scene.
But have you heard the Unicorns? Taking the Montreal sound in a different (kind of orchestral, but more pop-y) direction, the Unicorns' debut CD "Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone" went largely unnoticed on its 2003 debut, but is slowly garnering fans here in LA. Their frequent Spaceland shows have become a hot ticket.
Give it a try, you won't be sorry.

I saw Be Cool. It was no Get Shorty, but it was a fun time if you have low standards and don't need Uma Thurman to act particularly well to enjoy her presence. The middle dragged, but the end saved it, I thought. I was feeling cranky with 30 mins to go, and walked out of the theater happy.

Since it's a (self-invited) referendum on my life, my house has probably appreciated 33% in 2 years, so I'm not too disappointed over that choice. But it does make the cash flow a little tight.
The big firm route was palatable for three years. After that, it was less so, particularly when other opportunties presented themselves.
So despite the fact that my family didn't put me through school (I'm not saying yours did ltl/fb, but odds are that several regulars here fit that bill), I've made the choices I've made, for better or worse. Are some of my suits a little worn? Absolutely. It is what it is. Lucky for me, I can look fabulous in a green over-the-shoulder thong, if need be.

At lunch today, I'm pretty sure the place played a chick band doing a cover of a Journey song. Anybody know what I was listening to?

Just bid on the eBay auction. Though you'll have to have deep pockets to outbid GoldenPalace.com.

I do, it's a boy. I think he'll be a junk-balling lefty, kind of a back-of-the-rotation guy. Kick around the bigs for six or seven years, then go into broadcasting. Like John Cerutti, without the suicide.

Maybe for Paris, but I can't believe that Fred Durst, stupid as he is, has handlers dumb enough to let him file massive lawsuits based on his lies about a publicity stunt.

Late to the bandwagon again str8? I heard a rumor that The Unicorns are playing their last show together this weekend. And then they plan to reform as a rap act. So hurry if this interests you.
I never reveal my sources.

If he does not name the kid Hoser, eh - I will be sadly disappointed.
I will take Backbacon as second place.
Lil Pucker for third.
