I think you're making yourself look poor here. In the context of the hand and of that game, There's only five better hands he could have had that would beat AK: AA, KK, JJ, KJ or 66. That's it.

Wrong. Other winning hands against your AK are:

K2, J2, J6, 62, 22

ETA: Those are winning hands against you after the turn. After the river, he had a bunch more double pair winners and another trip winner. This is why I very rarely play on high pair. Lots of idiots stay in after the flop when they shouldn't and end up getting 2 pair on the turn or river.

You might enjoy Bad Beats and Lucky Draws by Phil Hellmuth. It's certainly not great, but there are a few good anecdotes, sort of a back of the toilet book. It is not jewel encrusted.

I agree, and I'll stand by my statement that a single pair, even a top pair with a top kicker, just isn't that good of a hand in a low limit ten-handed. You've never gambled a little when pre-flop betting is low on a hand like 2-6? This happens all the time, and this is how you can win monster pots if you read well and can bet wisely and deceptively. I could see if srt8 was betting his Kings with Ace kicker, but he wasn't. That's what is strange to me. Raise or fold. Sitting around checking and calling is telling.
