I could see if srt8 was betting his Kings with Ace kicker, but he wasn't. That's what is strange to me. Raise or fold. Sitting around checking and calling is telling.

I agree with this. I don't think of 9-18 as low limit, but I play almost exclusively NL tournament style, so I don't really know what qualifies as low limit. If it's 10 handed after the flop (I'm not going back to re-read the scenario), then its a train-wreck that anyone holding anything could win. I thought there were a smaller number of post-flop players.

That's all I want. That and for Paigow to walk out in front of a bus or trolley or whatever.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

I'm fun. I really try to be unpredictable in betting and play. Especially in casino play, I tend to intentionally do things at the beginning of the time I play to try to present an unrealistic table reputation. That is how I have won some big pots - people are thinking that the fact that I am capping multiple rounds post-flop with A-A-4-2-5 on the board means that I have a three or am just trying to bluff people out, because I did pissy little crap like that earlier in the game. When you actually have A-A or A-[2,4,5] and just limped in, that's when you scalp people. Then you can play a little loose for a while because people put you on a single strategy.
Ultimate pots under $200 are too low in a $9-$18 game. Even if you lose, you should be capping or at least re-raising rounds that you think that you have a good chance to win post-flop. Even if you don't win them, you have the chance to, and when you do win them, it will be a monster. This is especially true when there are still three or four players betting heavy.

Couldn't you discuss this by PM with Atticus? It sounds like he's grooming you to be successor to his, um, throne.

Why is reading so wrong or gross? I'm entertained, I get reading done, and I only loan my books to people I don't like. What's the problem?

I think every Fbettie will mostly agree that I am mainly correct that the conjured up image of you sitting on a toilet reading is probably the best way to ensure you will never get any from any of us. I

It was down to two or three after the flop, but you still have to expect that someone is going to have a pretty good hand and decide to see the flop and hang around in a ten-handed game. K-J, K-K, J-J, K and a kicker to match one of the flop cards are all possibilities, and I think that all of those would have beat him.
This makes me want to play poker. I need to find another place to play besides Trump. It's always packed. Will have to do some research on this issue.

I'd take this to the Book Club Thread, but I can't seem to locate it anymore. Do we want one of those again or not? Also considered posting on Politics instead, but that would require me to sift through the Who Knows More About Other Countries discussion that's going on there.

I started a very special Politics thread just for you last night, but since then someone has deleted it, alas.

That is 2^16-1, which is the largest number available in a 2^16 count (because of 0). It's a common limit for counts in computer science. It just means that he blew one of the mods to get a high post count.

I don't see what's so wrong or gross about it. I don't really view it as a solemn occasion, where I should sit with my head bowed and my hands folded in my lap. Until I get the flatscreen in the bathroom, reading it is.
Oh, and I'm done with Guns, Germs & Steel, if you'd care to borrow it.

Something so boring it requires a special thread even on PB, and you hope to be entertained? You're the kind of low expectations girl I could really have gotten serious with.

Ok, but MR's K-2, 6-2, 2-2 bullshit is out then. That's what I'm talking about.
I think we mainly agree. I agree there were beats out there, and I agree that he should have bet instead of checked (and even re-raised if he got raised). I don't agree that top pair, ace kicker was a bad hand to stay in with.
