Don't worry, the lightening bolts striking La Maison D'Angerfield should make things a bit more exciting this year.
Hint: No need to hard-boil the eggs if you just hold them in your hand.

Powerbooks and ibooks have been using the G4 chip for some time now. see www.apple.com

Another recent electronics purchase was a high-frequency cordless phone with three handsets. It also has intercom, walkie-talkie and room monitor capability. Of course, I live in a three-story house (not a McMansion--it was built in 1910), so these features matter more for me.

Be careful running a 2.4 ghz phone in the same environment as the aforementioned wireless network. They both operate in the same band and will cause interference. I suggest that you stick with 900 mhz.
Do you even use a landline all that much anymore? The only reasons we still have one are 1) need one for DSL and 2) need one for the buzzer for the door to get into the building. Otherwise, landlines are a waste of money IMHO.

Yeah, I'd be furious too if my mother bought me a present. And it was expensive. And I didn't even like it. The nerve of that woman. You go give that bitch a piece of your mind this weekend at the family religious gathering, that'll show her.

It was bound to happen.
A London group lobbying against a school program to protect gay and lesbian youth from abuse put together a pamphlet to prove that the schools were actually recruiting students for homosexual lifestyles. Only problem: the photo was from The Onion.
In related news, FCC Sentences Artie Lange To Death.

Hartmann is hardly crap. And the non-leather bags list around $500 a piece.

Wow, a topic on the FB that I actually have some relevant experience on. Way back when, I used to work at a luggage shop. Tumi luggage is pretty nice, but now there are a lot of less expensive choices that are just as nice and durable. Tumi did have some problems with their rollerboards, not sure if they've redesigned them. Alex is right--TravelPro's are very popular with flight crews, and for good reason, durable, light, and well-designed for travel. I picked up a TravelPro at a going out of business sale, when the store thought one of the wheels was broken and discounted it even further. It cost me $40 out the door. All I needed to do was unscrew the wheel and put it back on properly. Best bag I've owned. Carries plenty of stuff for 2 people on a weekend. Not sure if they make a garment rollerbag though. Pretty sure that Tumi does.
Hartmann luggage is also very nice, but waay too expensive for normal people, at least the all leather models. French luggage (the brand) is well made, but for old ladies. You might check out Boyt luggage too. And frankly, take a look at your local Costco--that Kirkland luggage is not too shabby, and probably made by a well-known luggage manufacturer.
God, I really am a geek.

Yes, you are. But I'll continue the stupid thread to note that I got one of those Samsonite wheeled carry-ons that you can turn to be narrow when you are wheeling it down the airplane aisle and it has worked very well.

The Sport's Guy probably brings up Fallon and his poor SNL sketches at least once a week:
"Just won my "Salami will get double-teamed on the low post and awkwardly lose the ball" first-half prop, which I had parlayed at 15-1 odds on Saturday night with "Jimmy Fallon and Horatio Sanz will crack up in the same SNL sketch." Easy money."

Yeah, b/c price and quality are directly proportional in this country...
I'm sure the stuff is nice, but it's not 3x as nice. You don't seem like a brand fucker to me.

I hate people who wheel bags down the aisle of airplanes. It's just plain lazy. Carry the fucker and stop running over my feet and/or slamming into my elbow and/or computer.

Alex: I couldn't agree more. Every month, my ridiculous land line bill comes, and each month the blood vessels start bursting in my head as I try not to lose it. Even though we basically make no calls, local phone service is $20 a month and add another $15-$20 for the privilege of long distance access, which we never use from our land line because both our cell phones have free long distance. Can you deactivate long distance?

see, that is the utility of the new bag. it doesn't hit anyone because it is actually narrower than the aisle. great reading comprehension there.

Yes! I removed long distance and call-waiting off my landline last month since I realized it'd been two years since I'd used either.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

Yes.
And take off your fucking backpack and carry it in front of you on the plane. Are you not even aware that you're whacking people in the face who are already seated?
I still can't believe people wheeled shit around in law school. WTF? We have lockers, dumbshits. And I've walked 15 miles with 50 lbs strapped to my back. You can walk 20 feet with 10 lbs.

I have seen those bags and, while they certainly look like they might remedy the problem, I have yet to see someone using one correctly and have, in fact, been hit on the elbow by an inattentive traveler pulling one up an aisle.
