So, *you* were the snarky sock committee. Huh. For some reason, I always thought that it was either debtslave or kafka.

Oh, and suggestions for new schtick being accepted via PM. I'm leaning towards something like a New Age passive-aggressive law school professor who just made tenure.

Whatever you say, Shape Shitter. But ask yourself how much FTang Scatticus has gotten over his career?

Oh, and I'm done with Guns, Germs & Steel, if you'd care to borrow it.
Maybe if you hadn't admitted you don't wipe adequately, this bit would have gone over better.

It's on again tonight, and I intend to watch it. Anyone else?
The guys at my gym were talking about it and said it was good. I'll try to catch it if I remember.

Actually he blew one of the admins to disguise his legitimately high post count. Or so I've heard.

I think users can actually set their post count to whatever they want it to be.

eta: maybe not anymore, but i think you could at one point.

Dude, I love the Podunk. That wasn't about you. I was just trying to come up with awards that Thurgreed might bless. Actually I think he did tell you to get a new schtick. If you are nominated, you arent getting my vote.

I think we mainly agree. I agree there were beats out there, and I agree that he should have bet instead of checked (and even re-raised if he got raised). I don't agree that top pair, ace kicker was a bad hand to stay in with.
I guess that I'm beating this to death now (but hey, that's my schtick), but that's a different kind of play. Here, MR's bullshit would also have worked (at least to beat str8, but not Mr. Aggressive, since he ended up with a straight), but I think that the pre-flop round was pretty heavy, so those people probbaly wouldn't have stayed to see a flop, but it's not totally unforseeable.

I love poker. Some of the smartest and most observant people I know are some of the best poker playerss.

Books

Speaking of books, have any of you fuckers read Moneyball? I thought it was absolutely fantastic; I couldn't put it down. IT was so interesting to read about how badly the baseball establishment does at accurately valuing assets (players). It's a great business book, really, it just happens to be about baseball. And I love that the afterword show how much of a moron Joe Morgan is.

That's exactly what I was saying. MR's possible "beats" would have (and should have) gotten out in the pre-flop heavy betting. That is why I said "You're kidding, right" to his post about how str8 should have been expecting those possible beats to be in the hand. And fuck yeah I know that NL and limit are different, asshat. That's why I mentioned it. No sense posting with you about this if you aren't even reading what I'm saying.

I love poker too. In particular I love how most self-satisfied aggressive men assume women (i) don't know what they're doing and (ii) don't know how to bluff.

Fantastic book. Michael Lewis is a wonderful writer. Too bad he wrote it before Theo Epstein took over as GM in Boston -- I'd love to hear Lewis's perspective on what happened when a sabermetrics believer got to use the system on a high-payroll team.

Like when Annie Duke beat Phil Hellmuth in the WPT Championship Series (or whatever it was called). She had him tied up in knots from second guessing himself. That may have been the most entertaining poker segment I've seen.

To paraphrase slave and sunny, you must be crazy, on crack, or blind. Or both! I've got a waiting list.

My husband has been playing up a storm since our separation. Apparently he has won two tournaments. Go him!

I have no idea what this says about me, but I am happy he is being productive.
