"Police: Workers Gave Elderly Patients Laxatives To Prank Next Shift Patients Suffered Pain, Rectal Bleeding

IRVINE, Ky. -- What is being described as a "prank" that occurred last year has resulted in serious accusations against two former nursing home employees from Irvine.

Lisa Kilburn, 27, and Kim Congleton, 30, were both certified nursing assistants at Irvine Health and Rehabilitation Center. They're accused of giving laxatives to patients who did not need them, including older and medically fragile people. The patients suffered pain and rectal bleeding.

Attorney General Greg Stumbo said the intended targets of the prank were nursing assistants on the next shift. Stumbo called the conduct an outrage to human decency and dignity.

The two women were fired and face criminal abuse charges that carry prison terms and fines. They'll be arraigned Oct. 6."

How often can you say, "That shit's not even a little funny," and really mean it?

Obviously I am not projecting my utter failure to give a crap strongly enough around this place, because they keep giving me work. I am considering a body-language seminar at the Learning Annex.

That is a very disturbing photograph. I wouldn't recommend clicking on the link if you're at all sensitive to animal suffering.

I cancelled tonight's class, because I just don't give a shit (and they picked up on that somehow). So, I'll see you on Saturday.

How is the photo (by itself) any worse than this?

Fair enough. I thought it might be the look on the dog's face, but the piercing in and of itself wasn't that disturbing. I bet it's better than getting your tail chopped off.

Anyway, I don't understand why they need to pierce them like that. How could that even be effective? Wouldn't it just come right off right away?
