Ah, Fleet Week

There is an A-10 flying circles around the building next to mine.

It's kind of cool. Though I'm sure it would be less so if it were firing that big-ass chain gun at me.

No, it wasn't. As soon as the GOP moves to impeach all of its leaders, I'll concede that the Rs are not hypocrites bent on using the politics of personal destruction to secure power.

Gosh, that's big of you. How admirable, your restraint.

You've really got a problem hanging your case on teh actual conduct. Unlike Studds, who had actual sex, rather than imsex, Foley immediately resigned. And Foley's party leadership, unlike Studds's, did not support him.

And Clinton engaged in actual sex (well not "sex") with his underling, again not just IMsex, but refused to resign. He's lucky there was no dem leader who could have covered it up for him and take the fall.
Age of consent means something here, as does the pattern. And did I defend Clinton? I don't recall defending Clinton? Nor Studds. As I think you mentioned, it was the voters on the Cape who decided he should return to Congress. Unlike Phil Crane, who was rather more hypocritical about values.

He was gay, right? Good point.

It was much better yesterday when they were zooming over the dirty, wet hippies at the Anti-Bush rally in Justin Herman.

Q: Dems- do you have an agenda or plan so that we can decide whether to vote for your candidates?

A: No, but a Rep congressman sent emails to 16-18 year old boys, smirk hehehe. People in Montana, despite our lack of any plan, doesn't that make you want to vote for our candidate?

  • The federal budget estimate for the fiscal year just completed dropped to $250 billion, congressional estimators said Friday, as the economy continues to fuel impressive tax revenues.
The Congressional Budget Office's latest estimate is $10 billion below CBO predictions issued in August and well below a July White House prediction of $296 billion.

The improving deficit picture _ Bush predicted a $423 billion deficit in his February budget _ has been driven by better-than-expected tax receipts, especially from corporate profits, CBO said.

I believe you're thinking of Dan Crane. Phil Crane is an evil, self-centered drunk, but he wasn't a child abuser.

My bad -- T.S.

I responded to your post about the school having its students studying Islam. Perhaps if you actually paid attention to what people write instead of trying to prove how much more clever than the rest of us you are, you might notice things like that more often.

I wonder what book he stole. Probably something by Noam Chomsky.

As did I -- wait, maybe this is Hank implicitly acknowledging that I'm not really a leftist.

Finally!

I guess that is good news. I must say, though, that if the initial estimate was honest, and was at $423b, while reality was $250B, It shows that the Administration had no fucking idea what was happening.

That is possible, but I tend to think the original estimate was way inflated.

Putting aside the incoherency of this quote, and assuming he is trying to say that the deficit will only be $250B, it is a telling indictment of this administration/congress, in that these so-called Republicans are such huge deficit spenders despite a booming economy.

As I have said before, the current batch of Republicans are actually old-school southern Demoncrats. Bush = John Stennis
