I'm too busy getting washingtonienned here at work to deal with y'all. At least until Pushy the Puppy makes his triumphant return.

But I did see both Kill Bills this weekend. I think that's the recommended way to experience this movie.

I was five and he was six
We rode on horses made of sticks
He wore black and I wore white
He would always win the fight

Bang bang
He shot me down, bang bang
I hit the ground , bang bang
That awful sound, bang bang
My baby shot me down

Seasons came and changed the time
When I grew up, I called him mine
He would always laugh and say
Remember when we used to play

Bang bang
I shot you down, bang bang
You hit the ground , bang bang
That awful sound, bang bang
I used to shoot you down

Which sort of begs this question then. We never saw a body. Is it possible that Silvio faked her death and told her to scram (a la Gabriel Byrne and John Tuttorro) rather than the obvious.

Also lending to this theory is the fact that Drea De Matteo is apparently under contract for next season.
I thought the same thing for a while, but if they bring her back as a live character, they may as well start the show with a "we've jumped the shark" banner.* She'll appear in flashbacks. I'm sure Ralphie, Pussy the other ghosts also have contracts through season six.

I don't care where she is - I'm just glad Adrienna's gone. The FBI informant subplot was almost as boring as the Tony and Carm marriage subplot. Neither was as awful and totally useless as the Finn subplot or the sudden inclusion of 10 new characters, but they all detract from the only reason people watch the show anymore - to see Johnny Sack and Tony go to war.

* Yes, I am cognizant of the fact that the phrase "jump the shark" has jumped the shark.

Please. This was really fun, and said so much about Chris. It wasn't loyalty to Tony that made the decision, it was like Henry Hill said at the end of Goodfellas, the fucked thing is having to be a regular guy- you know that was going through Chris' head watching that dad cart his mess around. (although they couldn't have kids- right?).

Plus, her drug problem and really the FBI problem were Chris' fault. It's like Days of Wine and Roses, but with a quicker ending.

Tailoring is really not that expensive.

I don't give a fuck if it was the Atkins diet that did it, scoliosus or what, but wearing suit coats that are clearly about six sizes too large makes you look ridiculous. Especially when your shoulders aren't anywhere near as broad as those of your coat. Either start working out or get the suit taken in. It's not hard.

And, while you're at it, please make a note not to buy those extra-long coats. They exaggerate your shortness, they do not minimize it. And, again, you end up looking ridiculous. If anything, this is worse. Don't go there.

That is all.
It shouldn't be.

Can you see exactly what in the above rant makes you look worse than the object of the rant? If you would have said this out loud in the presence of the short guy with the ill-fitting suit, guess what. He would have been laughing at you behind your back.*

Like most of the subplots, Adrienna's FBI gig was never fully fleshed out. It popped up here and there and never really went anywhere. Then they end it by inserting a murder committed by a character we've never seen before? It was obvious Adrienna was either getting whacked or going to jail, like Pussy. They should have let her get the wire, then get caught with it and get whacked. The sudden "murder" angle was contrived and desperate. Although I do give the writers points for portraying Silvio, Tony and Chris as coldhearted bastards. Tony's call and Silvio's commentary where he tells her "Chris will be just fine" is great. The question it leaves is "Did she know she was being driven to the woods but went anyway because if she couldn't trust Chris, there was no point?"

They don't use Silvio and Paulie nearly enough, and they're the two best characters in the show. Van Zandt's a pretty good actor.

Question: Did you really rush to your computer right after the game to post this?

So in your world, any observation which is not complimentary is worthy of derision? The inherent contradiction of deriding people for making negative comments aside, you've just argued against about 90% of the stand up comedy written in the last 50 years.

I used to take shots at Paigow for getting judgmental. Then one day it dawned on me - if people didn't make biting observations from their own biases, fuck... there would be a goddamned funny syllable on this whole board.

Ranting is sort of walking the plank. You lay the comments out there knowing sombody's going to filet your stuff. But if nobody says anything original, even if its bad, the board dies.

* Yes, I understand you're firing off partly tongue-in-cheek.

ETA: So you're short and skinny? I always figured you well-fed.

Dissent.

Here, outside TCOTFU, over-the-top ranting done in one's best drag queen voice results in laughter to one's face, not behind one's back.

I know T. doesn't have a problem with short guy jokes- he just had a problem with the phrasing.

Well, the phrasing does leave something to be desired, but it appears to be a furiously fired off missive, as rants tend to be, so it gets a pass from my end.

And I know rants.
