When you decide to restock the gin, try Hendrick's. Call me and I'll fly on down for some martinis.

A fine choice.

Ouzo for long days. Guinness for long nights. Scotch or Bordeaux when I'm only having a few and they're accompanied by good food.

And, of course, whatever else is available whenever it is available.

Granted, but the Irish guys felt compelled to drag me there when we couldn't get into Kells. I ordered a Corona once just to be an asshole. I couldn't even imagine why they would even have Corona.

But yes, what Coltrane said. Full of Irish people.
I think Coltrane means a different Fado.

I had some last night. Very good stuff. I may be switching brands.

However, the party is for my guests to restock the bar. Usually I end up with much more alcohol than I started out with when I throw a party. Downside is you get whatever other people like/could afford.

I mean, okay, it is the Sun Times, but still....
Ah, okay. It's okay to take it in, just don't bring it to the kitchen later. That makes sense.

No. Send cake. I am having a kangaroo cake pouch sewn into the front of my bridesmaid's dress. (I'm not going to like the wedding cake.)

I suggest the same for Sebby. A flask is always a useful accessory.

The flask pocket makes Seb look too hippy.

AI Fugee Notes

Short like the Cliff Notes....

I think the new stage really hurt a bunch of the singers but not for the reasons Simon mentioned. I don't think it was the larger crowd or nerves. I think they couldn't hear either the band or themselves singing. Even Anwar had pitch problems and he is usually spot on pitch.

Jessica: Needs to learn how to change volume. It was all loud. It was just OK.

Anwar: My least favorite performance of his yet. But I still voted for him because overall he is one of the best and is my favorite.

Mikalah: Serious pitch issues. Not the worst but not all that great.

Constantine: With all of the 60s to choose from, he picks Tom Jones????? It was like bad karaoke for me.

Lindsey: Boring. She could go this week but I thought Nikko was worse.

Anthony: Eh. I'm not a fan of his so he'd have to hit one out of the park for me to be impressed.

Nadia: Randy said it well. The contest finally started with her last night. She looked great and sounded better. This was good.

Bo: Oh yeah, he rocked it! Blood Sweat and Tears meets American Idol. The only thing he really needs is to lose the spare tire and get an eyebrow wax.

Vonzell: She was OK but not earth shattering. Kind of in the middle like one of the judges mentioned.

Scott Savol: He did pretty well. I was semi-impressed. If Constantine could sing like Scott does, he'd be a serious contender for reasons other than teen girls swoon over him.

Carrie: I think she blew it this week. This was all one volume and nothing special.

Nikko: I thought this was quite bad. Based on performances last night and over the last weeks, he should be going back home after his second chance. However, Lindsey or Mikalah could go instead.

My faves were Anwar (based more on past performances), Nadia and Bo and I voted only for them.

PS. I knew this. See prior page of posts. Yay me.

PPS. I've mentioned this before, but for all you stout drinkers, try Young's Double Chocolate sometime. That would make some excellent beer bread. Hmm. I'll have to try that out.
OK. I would drink with you.

I was in a rather funky bar with a wide selection of heavy beers (all heavy beers - nothing lighter, no ales at all) after a funeral recently, and ordered someone's double chocolate only because I remembered them being discussed on the board. Not bad at all.

There are a bunch of Fados. They're mostly the same.

Then next time I'm down, I'll bring the Hendrick's.
