Here's what I don't understand: Why do people care that most Americans don't like soccer?

Who gives a shit? It can't be because the games are low scoring. I love tight football games with great defense. And I think nothing is more exciting than a playoff baseball game that is tied 0-0 or 1-1 going into extra innings. So, lack of scoring isn't the problem. And really, when people say Americans don't appreciate it, it's shorthand for saying we have short attention spans and need lots and lots of scoring.

I just don't give a shit if you're really good at kicking a ball and running really fast. It's not the type of skill that a superior athlete can impress me with. Sometimes it's fun to watch, usually it's not.

I'm sure the majority of the world feels the same about baseball. I don't look think less of them because of it.

Well, I'd really have to make sure the job was a good "fit" first.

Hell, yes. This is a no brainer. I wouldn't even need the finger-snapping and leaving, or the weekends away, or any vacation at all.

$5m/year for 3 years. Then I quit. And retire to South America. With ncs, RP, fringey, ABBA, TM, Not Bob, Ironweed and Kevin Bacon. And Johnny Depp, just so I can keep his goatee trimmed.

Think Nome, Alaska, for you. Have to wear socks. Three pairs, if you want to keep your toes.

Do you make the move?

Gary, Indiana?

Close enough to live in Chicago.

Podunk, Alabama?

Buy the town a la Brad Wesley in Roadhouse.
I'd clean toilets in a methadone clinic in Gary for 5 Large.

My God... if someone dropped 5 in my lap right now I'd find my license, wipe my ass with it, march into City Hall and stick it on the forehead of the Chief Presiding Judge, and I'd dance like Fred Fucking Astaire all the way to the pen, giggling like a schoolgirl after her first kiss.

Jesus, I could almost fire off the pile of fluffernutter just thinking about it...

Because they know that until Americans get interested, they'll never get to see real men play the game.

I mean, duh.

(it's possible I've been spending too much time on the Politics Board lately)

How can I make this more clear...

Hmmmm...

I'd have sex with Julia Child every day for a month for $5 Large. Get the picture now?

$5 million? I'd clearly convert to Republicanism.

For the record, that's a different town. NTTAWW Alabama. I mean, in Birmingham, they love the governor. But we have much more going on here.

Ew! I would not.

However, given that I live in TX, I would vote for Bush in the upcoming election for $5m.
