Pronounced "Smithicks"

It's not an everyday thing, just St. Paddy's day, Christenings, Weddings, and when we lose at football.

How's this one?
Some Guinness was spilt on the barroom floor
when the pub was shut for the night.
Out of his hole crept a wee brown mouse
and stood in the pale moon light.
He lapped up the frothy brew from the floor
then back on haunches he sat.
And all night long you could hear him roar;
"Bring on the goddamned cat!"
(stolen from a sign I saw at an Irish bar in a crumbling rust belt town)

I just wanted to give you your proper props for earning your first POTM from TM. They aren't handed out too often and you have been here since at least the middle ages. It's quite an honor. And think, if you are able to repeat a few times, you might get a lifetime acheivement award at the Thurgreeds. :guitar:

I invented the vodka/iced tea in college. This is horrible. Beer and Diet Coke is also a poor option - a lot of discolored fizz. Also ouzo and grape juice = black tongue, headache, nauseating flavor. It occurs to me that I should have been a scientist, with all the experimentation and mixing, etc.
ETA: I have a way cool avatar.

A lot of the pepperoni slices are moldy. I'm not THAT hard up.
I'm not Irish, I'm not that into SP Day, but all this fucking poetry is going to drive me to drink. Christ.

I've had vodka/grape juice. Also quite bad. For how tasty grape juice (not wine) is, it sure doesn't blend well with alcohol.
The surest sign of desperation mixing I ever witnessed was when my friends and I mixed a opened-longer-than-a-day bottle of chardonnay with red bull in an attempt to make it palateable (not my idea - I'm no red bull fan). We called it bulljeunais. And developed some very amusing (at the time) marketing campaigns for it. Such as:
After a shitty day,
Bulljeunais.
When there's nothing left to drink,
Bulljeunais.
And my personal favorite (yes, this one was mine):
I've known men who liked it,
But they are all gay.
Bulljeunais.
(this one has the advantage of also being true.)

Have I ever mentioned on here the time I was at an Italian restaurant and, despite the fact that the restaurant had a perfectly good selection of wine (including cheap crap) the people at a table near me brought their own bottle, and it was Riunite (or however that is spelled)? I was unable to tell whether they drank it on ice or not. So nice.

FWIW, Snapple and vodka wasn't--if I recall correctly, and the details are fuzzy here-- that bad. I have no idea what flavor Snapple.
