Stickiness
Admins:
Maybe every thread in the "Safe Zone" should be "sticky" (which, I am assuming, allows a thread to be always displayed in the thread list, regardless of its period of inactivity).
While an observant newbie may figure out that by manipulating the "Showing threads 1 to 0 of 0, sorted by [various options]" feature that em can display the "Come On" thread and the "Law Talkers: An Explanation of the Inexplicable" thread, I think it would be more in line with the Safe Zone's informational caption/motto:

New? A little intimidated? Come here to post first and ask questions about the board. This is a *no flaming zone* You will also find information on how to read the board here.
|
to "sticky"-fy the above-mentioned threads to render them always readily available in a friendly, welcoming manner, regardless of a newbie's level of familiarity with all the features, options, and bells and whistles on this site.

Actually, it's not necessary to post a message in order to view your new avatar, as it appears in your user profile as soon as you update it. Since your avatar is updated globally on every one of your previous posts, clicking on the "Last Post" link in your User Profile will show you how your avatar appears in the context of a thread.

The Amazon.com Link
Does it benefit LawTalkers if we buy music through the Amazon.com link -- or only books?

Just out of curiosity, does Amazon send detail on who bought what generating what revenue, or do they just send a check, thereby avoiding potential outing?
Often wondered about that.

I apologize for my absence the past week, I had to deal with a personal emergency.
I know Even/Odds kept things running well during my absence. I won't have time to catch up on the boards, so if anyone asked a question of me that requires my response please send me an email or a PM.
Thanks
L

Oh great, so we won't be ridiculed by name, just by our taste in music, books, etc.... Ought to have a thread for this and try to predict who it was: "Somebody bought Yanni today!!"
The Justin Timberlake CD was for a friend, ahem, by the way...
