I would have given "chainsaw" to The Art of Noise, but different strokes, etc.
*This set back the women's movement 10 years.

A "power drill" vote also goes to Ice-T's "Black-n-decker".

Fiona Apple
I am not sure what she did to piss off the execs at Sony, but Sony apparently tossed a fully-produced album in the garbage a couple of years ago. "Extraordinary Machine" (spree: news article) has now been making its way around the web.
I gave it a listen and it's pretty damned good. You can find the torrent very easily.
Edit: link to the torrent file removed. PM me if you have any questions.

Oh, I'm sorry. Did I make you uncomfortable? I guess I didn't factor in the non-deliberately offensive targreed era genre of jokes. Good times.
I knew exactly what you were doing. If you don't like my response, don't post something stupid.

You are correct sir - I have only watched it on my puny no-def tv. It was the extreme unrated version though. Now you have me very curious as to what I'm missing.

Me too. They had me at jello.
They need to feel it out for awhile and find their own voices. I think the new Garreth might figure it out soon enough.
The guy who plays Tim (or Jim, now) isn't half as subtle as the original.

The pseudo documentary stuff is what made the British version funny. It would not have been so excruciating to watch David Brent had his behavior not been altered by his consciousness of being observed.
I thought the American version sucked, primarily because of the word-for-word. I turned back to my memo after about 6 minutes.

blood and bunnies
An acquaintance runs a costume supply company. His group creates these awesome costumes for another friend every few months when we have an event to go to that requires creative attire. I hadn't seen him since the XXX party back in January.
The scene: Absinthe on Richmond, at the bar, while I'm trying to figure out what to order.
- Him: I recognize that cleavage.
Me: Hey! Long time no see. What's going on?
Him: Blood and bunnies.
Me: Huh?
Him: Blood and bunnies. It's that time of the year.
Me: Blood and bunnies....Blood?
(Pause while I try to figure this out)
Him: Those Baptists sure do like their blood.
Me: Oooooh! Crucifiction reenactments?
Him: They want gallons and gallons of it. They can't get enough.
Me: Wow. Nails too? Crowns of thorns?
Him: We only do the prosthetic nails, but we sell a lot of those too.
Me: Yeah, well, I'd guess that if they want real nails they'd probably want real blood too.
Him: Blood and bunnies.
I still laugh every time I think about it. It's awesome. Three more days of the blood and bunnies season.

Nice -- a little Richie Blackmore and Joe Lynn Turner to start the day. Now I've got "Can't Happen Here" playing on my mental soundtrack

Having never seen the british version, I don't have that problem.

You are *so* going to Heck.
And the St. Theresa poetry you mentioned yesterday? Metaphors for God's love for the Church. Like the Song of Songs from the Bible. You think King Solomon was *really* interested in his beloved's breasts?
No. Me-ta-phor. Sheesh.

So it wasn't God fucking St. Theresa de Avila? The poetry seemed to imply rapture. I'm going to have to cancel the nun costume order I made last night.

If you have seen it and think about it a little bit, you won't want to watch the scene he's talking about in HD. I could barely watch the scenes with him the way that it was, and that was with his hot naked wife getting ready to pull train with Harold, Kumar and Coltrane.
