I like to listen to the regulations because I find it oddly soothing. Every other time I've done that, the plane has not crashed. And I like to read Esquire, which is total crap, but which is about all my brain can handle on a plane, given that most of it is calculating and recalculating the probability that the plane will crash. I don't like to drink, because paigow is right about the importance of hydration, and because it messes with the calculations.

In the face of that impressive and well-assembled argument, I yield. You must be hell in court.

How does it have a label if it's on tap? That's just stupid.

I know what you're saying here, but that still can't quite erase the mental image of you as RainMan. Does doodling out five (not four, not six, but five) consecutive, drawings of running dinosaurs during the pre-flight rituals help too?

Hydration is important (and drinking on a redeye is just hellish if you even want to try to sleep at all) but on occasion I'd recommend a drink or two on a plane if you intersperse it with water, and be sure to drink about double the water-to-alcohol ratio you'd normally do on terra firma.

Not as much as multiplying prime numbers.

The outdated ones can be used to either strike unruly passengers, or hand them to anxious ones who need soothing.

At the risk of being an even bigger tool than usual, while it is not against The Law, I am given to understand that it violates the merchant's agreements with the payment companies (e.g., Visa). I think this is as close to "against the law" as "the FAA requires it" is to "my boss requires it as a policy implementing FAA regs."

Of course this pissed me off so I responded with the obvious "so what the fuck are you doing driving a cab?"
Take the route that I want to take, assfuck.

I've got a solution for y'all who don't like cabs and cabbies:
Move to Los Angeles and get a car. Fuck balls. Oh, and Go Leafs Go. Up 2-1 after 1.

So if I post a sign reserving the right not to serve anyone, am I scot free? Would it change the analysis if it's a really big sign with fancy lettering posted at the cash register?

I forgot to mention, the hex doesn't work on days the Tigers win.
(LC owns the Tigers too). It usually doesn't come up, so it didn't seem necessary to mention. Try again next game.

That's how they get ya.
(10 points if you can ID the comedian who did this bit about how his Dad didn't want anyone eating bread in the steakhouse. I can't even do it, all I remember is that it was from Dr. Katz).

As someone whose case-from-hell involved the Federal Acquisition Regulations (the case was around long before I got there, and will probably be going for another 10 years, but I left the firm after spending 3 years of my life on the case -- it was my only way to escape), I got a shudder from reading your post. Don't ever capitalize those three letters again. Cost accounting. Ugh.

Hank, your Little Ceasar's theory on how to curse the fucking Red Wings failed. I ate crappy pizza for nothing. NOTHING! Last night therefore sucked. I blame you, Hank. You.
Tonight, ah tonight -- big games in the East. Huge. Leafs versus Ottowa. And the Devils versus the Flyers.
Air Canada (oops, an airline mention!) CentRE will be rocking tonight. What a game. Can Belfour's back hold up? Will Leetch score? Can the pitiful (other than Leetch) Toronto blue line stop the Ottowa offense?
In the other big game, will the hated Devils make the face-painted Puddy a happy man? Will the gamble of Not Bobby Clarke ("goalies? I don't need no stinkin goalies!") backfire? Can JR slip one past Mahr-taaan? Wouldn't you like to see them both lose?
Not Bob's prediction? Toronto and New Jersey win. (As for the other games, who really cares?)
|
You forgot to add - can Toronto stop taking stupid penalties, and, if they're facing a 5-on-3, find a way to kill it off?
The answer, apparently, is no and no.
